  1. I really don'rt care for Manny & his antics but he is a good ball player but I wouldn't want him on my team

  2. I don't really care either way as I am not a Red Sox fan but I've always wondered why some players get a pass for their behavior. Why are all of the pretty idiotic things that he does swept aside and classified as "Manny being Manny"? I think the only people who aren't irritated by that saying are the Sox fans and the boys over at ESPN...because they basically coined the term.

Edit: Hey I'm just saying that certain allowances are made for the guy and that not everyone buys into it. He doesn't have to be perfect and people love players with personalities but it just seems like his actions are catered to, whereas some people on the flip side of the coin are vilified.

  3. It's the Boston media.  This year it started with Manny pushing down the traveling secretary in Houston, the media has been all over his case since.  Although we don't know what really happened, Manny took himself out of the lineup for two games - one of which is against the Yankees?  And Manny seems to think he is worth $25M/year now and wants a new 4 year contract instead of letting the team have the advantage by picking up the team option on his current contract.

But your right, it's just normal Manny BS.  Something has happened every year since he has been in Boston.  As soon as the dust up is out in the open, it all calms down and Manny is even more productive - evidenced by last nights performance.

  4. I think people need to chill out.

If its the money you need to shut up right now.  Manny got his contract at a time when $$$ was being given out like candy :

    A-Rod : 10yr/250 mil = 25 mil per yr.

    Manny : 8yr/160 mil = 20 mil per yr.

    Jeter : 10yr/180 mil = 18 mil per yr.

If an agent could get you 20 mil a year to play baseball would you turn that down? Didn't think so.

As for "Manny being Manny". . . . WHO CARES.  It doesn't effect how he plays BASEBALL which is what he's paid to do.

Manny Ramirez is one of the best right handed hitter to ever play baseball and a 1st ballot Hall of Famer.

Anyone who criticizes him is somebody thats just standing up on their soap box trying to sound better than Manny.  Take you "Holier than thou" attitude and shove it.  I would love it if all these people that criticize atheletes had all their personal info spread across ESPN:

"You're fat, obese, and very ugly"  Hahahahaha.

"You get paid $50,000 per year and all you students get C's and D's.  You must be a crappy teacher and we're going to cut you're pay"

"You're wife left you because you have ED and your brother doesn't" hahahahaha.

Everyone needs to mind their own business and not worry about what Manny Ramirez is doing besides pounding the cover off of baseballs.

  5. because people want Manny to behave like he is on the Supreme Court

  6. Because it is a story and there is not a lot going on in sports right now. That also being the reason the Farve story has gotten so much attention cause nothing else is really going on right now.

  7. I'm with you. As i said in a previous question...

Why do people want to get rid of a Hall of Famer and one of the best hitters in the past 30 years. People need to stop reading into the drama that ESPN and newspapers use to get ratings/sell copies, whatever. Look at his production on the field! Did anything change last night during the game after all the info came out about trades, etc. NO - He still went 3-5, with 2 RBIs and 2 Runs scored.

If you want to get rid of the best pure hitter since he came into the game, then you are a moron. People need to realize that Manny never lets this stuff affect his level of play on the field, which is all that matters right now.

Heres a solution, stop reading the papers or watching ESPN and watch THE GAME and see how much he matters to this team. Without him, no one pitches to Ortiz and no one is consistent enough to drive in as many runs as Manny does.

  8. You can't have one set of rules for Manny and a different set for everyone else.  Management can only be expected to put up with so much and it appears Manny has reached that threshold where it is now a big distraction for the team, once again.  Manny comes into the clubhouse last week and announces that his leg is hurt and he can't play.  An MRI was accomplished on both legs and nothing was found.  Players play through injuries all year long and what he did was a direct slap in the face to his team and all of his teammates.  Manny being a jerk is one thing but when his actions become detrimental to the team then management has to step up and take action.  No player is bigger or more important than the team.

  9. i hate manny ramirez
