  1. There are multiple stories, and none are really known to be fact, ranging from an accent of "who's here", knocking at the door, to a Mike Tyson scenerio, with an Indiana man finding an ear and saying "who's ear?". LOL. There are no facts on this one, just multiple myths.  


  2. For same reason that the Black water mercenary´s are called Hucksters.

  3. The story I heard was that southern IN was settled by Kentuckians.  As travelers would pass by, they holler (as Kentuckians were known to do then) out: Whose your  Daddy, whose your Momma, whose your brother?

    This was done to see if any of their kin folk were coming up the road, & didn't know where anyone lived.  

    Don't know if it's true> but I love the story & can see how it could be possible down around Evansville.  

  4. when you knock on their door they would say hoosier [ who's there]
