  1. I think you're doing a good job implementing punishments for bad behavior.  I only have one suggestion; don't wait on her to disobey you 20 times before you punish her.  Do it the first time she disobeys.  If you give her 20 chances every time, you can be sure she will do it 19 times.  She'll stop just short of 20 to avoid the punishment, but you'll have to deal with it 19 times before she obeys.

Nip this in the bud and start punishing her the FIRST time she disobeys.   After about two days of CONSISTENTLY punishing her the first time she disobeys, she'll begin to get it.  You'll notice a change in her behavior.

    Good luck!

  2. depends on how old she is.

and what "naughty" things she was doing .

It's all a matter of opinion, The cry-it-out method and time out's are used differently by different people. For one's like me, those times are strictly limited. I Never let my son cry it out as a newborn, and as a toddler, gets punished very rarely...

and some, again like me, dont' believe in time outs inside the child's cribs. I want my child to associate his crib with sleep, calm and relaxing time, not screaming and being scared.

    he is 15 months. . .

  3. Some people don't believe in punishing their child and some do. Some like a well behaved child and some don't.

Nothing wrong with time out. You are trying to teach her right from wrong and that is your choice!

    Good Luck and God Bless

  4. Time out in a cot or crib can be safe and effective, and often it works well.  If your daughter is happy and content, then that means you are doing a good job with her.  Try to filter out the comments on this board...some people just like to get a rise by saying hurtful things, while others genuinely want to help.  :)
