Why are people not washing hands when using public restrooms?

So much disease, simple hygiene would prevent so many problems in the world, Didn't your parents teach you to wash with soap and water. Its sad how old and young cook and serve people food, and don't use simple hygiene, what the heck is wrong?

i think it may be related to not being taught to do it as a child. of course there is always the exception to the rule, and some people are just pigs, and don't clean anything. it is a small thing to remember, but i guess not everyone has the same sense of values and same levels of cleanliness. that's why they often have problems in fast food restaurants. employees don't wash their hands, and they end up with e-coli in the food. you'd think people would learn.

I know, it's so gross. My friend one time went to the restroom and came out of the stall and was about to leave,  when i stopped her and asked, aren't you gonna wash your hands? she said no, and she said that she didn't touch the flush or wipe, so need to wash. we had lunch afterwards, and i could barely eat, because she just ate her sandwhich like nothing was wrong, and she hadn't washed her hands...and just ew. please people, there are so many e. coli outbreaks and such, please wash your hands after using the restroom. especiallly if you cook. it would be much appreciated.

I do that sometimes, but I use hand sanitizer, then rinse my hands, but, if you go p**p, thats a different story, I always wash my hands when I go p**p!

Just to let you know I wash my hands and use a paper towel to open the door when I leave the restrooms.

I don't know but i totally agree with you. I notice that kids at school don't wash their hands after using the restroom. It disgusting

It is very unsanitary and gross. You can spread so many germs by not washing your hands after using the bathroom. I'm not exactly sure why people don't. They're probably in a hurry or just lazy. it should be something everyone should do to stop illnesses, but there are going to be people who still won't wash their hands after using the bathroom.

It is really disgusting. I am a germaphobe so I was my hands frequently. When I hear someone in a stall flush them they walk out ignoring the sinks it makes me want to vomit. Especially in school right before lunch *gag*. That is why in line I only touch the utensils in the cafeteria with my left hand, and my food with my right.

I wish I knew why. I just don't feel right if I don't wash my hands afterwards.. maybe people don't take it seriously, or maybe they are just lazy. But that's their problem =)

ITS HARD TO SAY WHY A PERSON DOES OR DOESNT DO THINGS OTHER PEOPLE DO NATURALLY, BUT WHAT IF THE PERSON JUST  THOROUGHLY WASHED THEIR p***s BEFORE ENTERING THE ESTABLISHMENT. WOULD THAT MAKE IT ANY MORE HYGIENIC?

I RECOMMEND OPENING THE DOOR WITH A PAPER TOWEL UPON ENTERING/ LEAVING YOUR LOCAL PUBLIC  RESTROOM. NOW GET OUT THERE AND START DISPOSING THOSE BODILY WASTES

Ya my thought are with you! I work at a grocery store and some of the things i see disgust me. The people that work in produce and the meat dept. wear gloves, Its the customers that are the pigs.One day i went into the ladies room ansd this lady was sitting on the toilet(she forgot to lock the door) ,so I came back a few minutes later. When I went in I almost threw up. Yhe smell was so bad. I know for a fact SHE didn't wash her hands cause the sink was not wet. So there ya go.She was a dirty bird!!!
