I think it's because it is anonymous and they like to pick on people because they know there is no way of them being exposed. There are a lot of creeps on Craig's list. It's a great place but you have to be safe.

I'm not familiar with Craigslist, but any internet forum for rants is meant to be mean - though usually not toward users of the same forum- and, as pointed out above, internet anonymity brings out the worst in some.
