  1. because people are jerks...call a vet, pronto...i love am staffs!

  2. Could be any time now

  3. Her temp is not the only way to tell if she is ready.Since she is only 57 days she might hold off until a few more days.I know the feeling of watch and wait it can drive you nuts. The fact that she is spotting means it should be soon, but dogs have a way of holding back until they are ready. When she starts labor she will start panting and some times pacing, some times she will circle and circle each dog is just different enough to make us a little crazy. So all you can do is watch and wait.Good Luck.Tilks Mom

  4. I honestly don't know...  this seems like a question for the vet.  Having puppies must be exciting!

  5. Most of us aren't reputeable breeders, just responsible pet owners who don't breed, so even if we wanted to answer your question, we couldn't with any accuracy.

The person who is going to help you is your Am Staff specific Breed mentor.  Also people you met while showing your Am Staff to her Conformation Champioinship title should have some valuable contacts for you.

  6. She is a little early. I believe 63 days is the gestation period. Take her in to your vet for a check-up.

ps. It would be wise to have her x-rayed to be sure all the puppies come out. Sometimes everything looks normal andthe pups are nursing and one is still unborn. This unborn pup will kill the mother dog in a few days.

Good luck to you and her!

  7. Because people are not responsible enough to educate themselves and endanger the lives of their pets and contribute to overpopulation by breeding inferior dogs when they have no knowledge about how to handle whelping, litters, and prenatal care.  If she is bleeding red blood, take her to a vet right away.  No prenatal bi- tch should be having bright red bloody discharge when in whelp.

  8. Nobody is going to bash you for a legitimate question like this. It's the people who ask stuff like "OMG!?! I'm like 12 yeers old and wunt a puupie so badddddd! How can i convynse my mom to let me have one?" that are the ones that get ripped apart. Or the ones who refuse to take their dog to the vet. I suggest you check your attitude at the door if you want some help.

That being said, she may be but that is awfully soon. And I read that the dog's temperature drops before labor.

  9. If she is, it's much too soon.  You need to contact a vet, or your breeding mentor.

  10. everyone judges everyone you just did by telling people that dont' give advice you like that they are judging you ... that is a judgement.

AT any rate... It is too soon and  the tempature needs to be a fairly stable drop...

I have a cut and paste info for a couple of books you will need for reference afterward, and if you can locate it today at your bookstore then it might be helpful for the birthing if they aren't already going.

Staffs can have problems and with this early and bleeding I would call vet who you need tohave on hand anyway.

Okay you don't know if dog is in heat, how often, or what to do, or you think your dog is pregnant or you want to breed, etc. etc. etc. ?

If you are asking this question you MUST read up and have material on hand and if your dog gives birth.

This book is a good one.

There is also a breeding for dummies book that is basic and decent also on my site. Take a look at the books, some of the sites that compare like amazon have a review also.

YOU NEED to get educated and FAST as pregnancies are only 63 days and it GOES fast.Build a list of three books and go pick them up locally or order from my site which whatever.

Just get some material to have on hand! Find a mentor in real life someone that has gone through this before.
