Quite honestly Ron Paul would be more like JFK in my opinion when it comes to being able to change the world for the better...

  1. So many have lost reality,, but the surprise will be in November when obama  is out

  2. I think they're talking about his charisma...

  3. the next JFK,  i hope not,  JFK got shot, and is dead,  if the same thing happens to Obama, there will be huge uproars and riots,

  4. You are one smart dude, Tony.  Ron Paul is my candidate of choice too, and I'm writing him in.  Obama is nowhere near JFK or Ron Paul.

  5. Obama is the next Jimmy Carter .

  6. Firstly JFK is a martyr he actually was internationally one of the worst presidents we've had. Lets see, got us involved in one of the worst conflicts the country has ever seen in Vietnam, brought the world to the brink of atomic destruction, Bay of Pigs and was a adulterer, with a movie star no less( and republicans thought Clinton was bad). Secondly yes Ron Paul is one smart MF. Especially economically, but cmon he's not the worlds greatest speaker. Thats where obama gets his comparison, he's articulate, hansome, and well prepared. Ron Paul is only two of those things. The other thing that should be taken into account is that change, significant change for the good of the people rarely comes from the top.

  7. yeah, he is not even the right color.

  8. Who are the "people" that are saying that? I've heard one or two commentators say that he is young, speaks well and has gotten a lot of young people interested in politics for the first time, so there are definite points of resemblance.

But Obama himself and nobody in his campaign have made such a comparison - in any case how can you compare until he actually IS President?

Ron Paul is quite a guy, says what he means and sticks to his guns but his economic plans are totally unworkable and his confrontational stance on foreign affairs could be disastrous.

  9. The reason people say Obama is like JFK are kind of obvious - he is young, he can deliver a good speech, he is a sitting senator and his campaign is not built on specifics but a general sense of feel good optimism.

That generally make people overlook the differences like the fact that he has much weaker character, uses his excellent public speaking skills to weasel his way out of contradictions in his positions or other weaknesses, etc.  For me one example is that when JFK blundered on the Bay of Pigs he publicly took responsibility for that mistake rather than try to weasel out of it and make it someone elses fault. He had character.  But to this day Obama will not admit that he opposed the surge because the war was already lost and was unwinnable,  but the tide has turned around completely.

I am not asking you to support the surge.  I am just picking out one example which shows the difference in character. JFK was much more willing to take risks and take responsibility. Barack has never stood up to his party in his life and probably never will (and no I do not consider weakly standing up to Jesse Jackson to be the same thing as standing up to his party).

Any candidate can stand up to their opponents, a candidate with character can stand up even to his allies when he believes it is in the national interest.  And I certainly give Ron Paul credit for that.  In fact, while I don't support him I even give credit to Ralph Nader for that - for standing up honestly for what he truly believes in irrespective of the harm it may do himself.

  10. never well just be in war for 10 more years and taxes of poor americans will be spent meaninglessly ughhh...ppppll get a clue

  11. The only sure thing i see on this forum is that most of Obamas supporters here won't be able to vote for a long time and that is exactly the audience that he's trying to capture!!!!!

  12. You're right; Paul fits that mold much better than Obama does. Obama's a member of a globalist, capitalist Elite family (being related to Bush & Cheney, which I think is NO coincidence!) He's CFR, and he won't be making any positive changes to America. Kennedy was killed for not following the program. Obama will, and he's part of the family, so he should be safe.

  13. I have no opinion one way or the other on the potential of Obama, or lack therefore, but I believe he is being compared to JFK for several reasons.  He's young (by presidential standards), charismatic, and a good communicator.  Even in his recent speech in Berlin, he seemed to evoke images of JFK.  I think he has also in this campaign ignited a certain fire in young people to get politically involved, just as JFK did.  Even Caroline Kennedy has gone so far as to say that Obama has inspired people much the same as her father did.

I'm not particularly agreeing with the above but simply trying to provide why people are finding him similar.

  14. "People" are not saying that.  His campaign and the people that hold his leash are constantly selling the guy. "Obama met with the French President today".  "Obama to hold a meeting with the Fed tomorrow"  Smoke and Mirrors. Few people buy it.  They are hoping that the sheeple will vote for him because he bears no resemblance to Bush.

  15. He won't be elected. You won't have a President whose only substance is based on charisma.
