I mean I haven't seen a fairy but then again I haven't seen god.

and don't give me this bullshit.

cause in the end they've both been pass down throughout literature and

folklore and stuff.

So why no be open minded and give everything a possibility of existence.

  1. people dont believe in things they can't see.

and yet they refuse to see what they believe can't possibly exist.

6 years of experience with the unknown and otherworldly tell me that people wont even flinch when a person walks through a wall.

by the way: faeries quite like naturally sweet foods, fruits like berries. make friends. friends are always useful in this business.

    good luck and don't die.

    Sara.

  2. Fairies do exist-they are able to be seen but usually do not present themselves, not saying they can not.

People -at least in this country are for the most part closed minded-that is just the way it is, most people also will not accept the possibility that other things exist with in other worlds. It never used to be as bad as it is now , people used to think a lot for themselves and were open up to other opinions. Whether I believe with what they say or not

I respect other peoples beliefs and opinions and I would expect other people to do the same for me.

Many people on here feel they have to say derogatory things towards other people-many times people are just asking a question or wanting another opinion on something.

If feel that if you have nothing nice to say-say nothing.

  3. Because people are scared of things that can't be explained though science. Think about why there are so many horror movies now with explantions at the end.

  4. Only a few people are open minded out there and I am one. I try to do my best to comprehend things which are unusual especially when it comes to paranormal and supernaturals. To be frank, only a few people out there are gifted with intelligence to fathom complicated situations\events and are open minded enough to understand what others believe and respect them for who they are. Most people tend to live as "normal" and would rather not want to explore more for they know it is pretty difficult to solve something especially when it comes to beyond human mind or knowledge. Not all things can be explained in science for there are many more things to discover and learn. Patience is needed to get the highest pinnacle of what you ought to know.

  5. good question(=

i find myself extremely open minded but for some reason i still dont have much faith in a god..

  6. I consider myself to be open minded but with a healthy dose of skepticism.  I highly doubt fairies exist.  You can't prove that they don't, but the lack of hard evidence would point to that conclusion.  The same goes for god, of course, which I also don't believe in.  You have to remember, that just because I don't believe something exists doesn't mean I think that it's completely impossible.  When you believe something exists, that means you think that they do.  But if you don't know one way or the other, than you don't actually believe they exist.  Just remember that while it's true that you can't prove fairies don't exist, you also can't prove that santa claus doesn't exist.  Hey, maybe he does and we all just don't know it.  Maybe he's just hiding out in the north pole and stopped giving gifts because no grown men believe in him anymore... it's ok to be open minded, but to not use skepticism when dealing with things, you can end up being made a fool.

  7. This is like spirits or ghosts.  You cannot prove that they DON'T exist, and there is some compelling things out there suggesting the paranormal happens.  I think it's pretty presumptuous of humans to assume that we are the ONLY possible living thing (besides animals).  And yet, they believe in God even though we have NO actual PROOF that He exists, just the faith that He does....

I think you can be open minded without being gullible.  Just keeping the possibility there.

  8. Because people don't want to believe in other things beside God, because it would then call into questions the entirety of their religion who teaches that these things are nonexistent or evil.

Just as people who do believe in fairies and such, find it offensive to have their belief called into question.

The close mindedness in its own right is what makes this such an interesting world to live in.  If people did not hold their right to belief so ardently, we would all be one religion with similar beliefs etc...  What a bore that would be.

Personally I like the debate, I like that people express their beliefs as if they were the very foundation of their life, as they may be.

It's human nature and that is what is so cool about it.  It has it's place right along with open mindedness.  You really can't have one without having the other.

  9. people want to believe that what they were told is right. And many of them believe it soooo much that they decide their way is the ONLY right way. I completely understand your frustration. It happens a alot, and I admit I have wondered about these things too, but my other question is..."why do they feel the need to be rude or abrasive when talking to others about such things? And why when asked politely not to say something if they are not going to be nice; why do they say it anyway?"

  10. yeah i know just because no one has experienced these doesnt mean that they arent true...

i mean if they arent true then how did they come to be?

they are close minded cause they are scared that some thing out there could possibly ruin what they have built their lifes on

    example: scientists...

they dont believe cause they have built their lifes and careers on fact and not fiction

and the minute they find something that could possibly make them wrong they will make sure that they find something and possibly anything that will not prove them to be wrong

but then again i could be wrong scientists are a common stereotype

no one cant really be sure

    but i believe :)

  11. These are wonderful answers, I'm glad to see them actually answering nicely!

It's because people are scared to death of things that they can't explain, thing's that appear sinister to them, or just too far fetched to be true. People who say vampires aren't real, God is a hoax and fairies are fake simply haven't had experiences with them.

Sometimes you must have an experience to believe. There are a lot of misconceptions floating around and this is one of them. I agree with what another user said, if they don't exist then how did we get all these stories. Almost like what Jack says in Pirates of the Caribbean

"If there were no survivors then were do the stories come from I wonder?"  Same concept.

People are afraid that if they open up to a possibility of existencece then they will be proven wrong or they will find something they're afraid to admit is reality.
