  1. why wouldnt you be fascinated with aviation and jet planes

"I feel the need, the need for speed!"

i mean who wakes up in the morning saying im gonna fly a multi million dollar jet and blow stuff up its just awesome

  2. If you don't know, no one can explain it. Are you kidding? I still love to watch birds. Why do you like women or men? Why do you like air?

  3. For some of us, it is a way of life.  I began working on aircraft in the Navy, just after I graduated from high school.  I had no idea what I wanted to do and my recruiter encouraged aviation maintenace.  Mainly because it has a direct conversion to civilian life.  I don't understand why someone would join a military branch and learn a skill that has no civilian counterpart.

The technology in modern commercial aviation is incredibly advanced.  I love a challenge and get a great sense of satisfaction when I get into my car and drive home, knowing that I have made an aircraft safe for flight.  When I get home and see an aircraft flying over my house, I have to wonder if that was the one I worked on.  Sure beats sitting behind a desk and crunching numbers all day.

Can't think of any other profession I would rather have!

  4. Because neither you nor I could invent aircraft.

  5. Probably because it is so amazing that a large piece of metal can actually fly in the air. Its so strange to think about!  They like to know the sciences behind it and stuff.

  6. For the same reason that some people are interested in ships, trains, women, men, war, politics, or anything else that you can name. Man is, by nature, curious, and that leads to interest, which can lead to fascination. It is just human nature. I am sure that you have your interests, too,

    Regards,

    Dan

  7. Some appreciate the aesthetic beauty of some plane designs, for example Concorde, Spitfire, Vulcan to name a few.

For some its the POWER and NOISE.

For some it's an appreciation of the technical stuff that makes them work.

There are some anoraks who just collect serial numbers - that I can't get my head round!

  8. idk

  9. The fascination of flight can't be expressed with words. But it really lies beyond the capabilities of human endeavor. Once you've experienced it, you'll never be able to forget it.

    — Friedrich Oblessor, 127 victories WWII.

The air up there in the clouds is very pure and fine, bracing and delicious. And why shouldn't it be? —it is the same the angels breathe.

    — Mark Twain, ‘Roughing It,’ Chapter XXII, 1886.

  10. Because they don't have lives.

  11. Because its so awesome!!!!!

  12. since when I was like 5, planes fascinated me by:

    their beauty

(any plane, especially during takeoffs and landings--very graceful. Come on, its a huge machine taking to the skies, from being a ground craft to an aircraft. the transition is always beautiful)

    Their power

(throttle opens, huge noise, HUGE acceleration and its a 200 ton plane! what has that eh? F1? maybe but what does that do besides turn in circles?)

    the science behind it

WHY? does something that big, with no visible means holding it up, flying? how come a 200 ton thing full of people is flying through the air without falling?I wanted to know everything behind that magic

and the Dream I think every real pilot has

one day, I want to fly without any help from anything. Just me. In the air, among the clouds. See the ground beloooowww.

  13.
