  1. I enjoy his questions and answers.

  2. This is always the case when one group operates on unsupported rhetoric that depends on faith rather than reason. These faithful followers will burn at the stake any person who produces real facts or documented historical data that proves their item of faith to be fraudulent. With AGW this is easy to do because their whole program is built on a defective computer program that skewed the data to achieve the data output the programmer wanted, not what the raw data showed.

It is like a program called mini tab for checking SPS data that while purporting to use AIAG formulas to produce Cpk and PPk numbers actually is programmed to force AIAG numbers 4 to 5 times requirement to meet supposedly minimum numbers. For instance to get a Cpk of 1.67 on mini tab you would get a Cpk of 8.97 or so using the AIAG formulas. The point here is how the formulas deal with the data to produce the output numbers. It has now been shown that all the evidence Al Gore and Hanson used to promote AGW was produced by a computer program that eliminated all data from its calculations that did not fit the conclusions the program writer laid out. So the fact that the climate was much hotter through the mid 30s and into the 40s than it has been for the last 10 years was lost in the out put because the it did not fit the preprogrammed conclusion the program was told to give.

Any data stream from any source would automatically produce the famous hockey stick chart because the way it was written that is all it could do.  So when Jello gives good and accurate responses and questions I will support him, if he gives false or misleading answers like so many AGW supporters do out of religious faith I will give him the same down check I would give anyone who makes a faith rather than facts based answer.

  3. I like him I think he is smart but then I am not stupid either.

  4. I'm not mad at Jello for being a top contributor - I think it's great he/she has the time to do it.

But I have taken this person to task many a time for simply regurgitating silly talk radio BS.  Folks like Jello and other self-styled "skeptics" have demonstrated repeatedly that they do not understand the very basic tenements of SCIENCE.

I could really give a rats pencil about this whole GW discussion, but it really drives me bananas to see so much misinformation --- and people parading around as "skeptics" for convenience.

Oh I suppose many of you have no idea what I am talking about so I will repeat again my heartfelt and earnest plea:

"Please think for yourselves!  And while you are at it please go pay a visit to your HS Science Teacher and ask him/her to explain Science.  How does it work?  Go back to basics."

I think some folks feel that folks like JELLO and the other vamps who troll the GW section aren't above fixing the results either.  S'OK.  It's become a game which is why I don't really respond anymore.

It's boring, boorish and stupider than the Rush Limbaugh show.  It's a feeble reflection of the idiocracy that is this nations "political scene".

Not a single one of these louts has even read "A Conservative Mind" published in 1959 and still in print.  They'd probably be pretty shocked to find out what they've been labeling themselves with.

  5. Deus said it right. He gives an answer some people want to hear, not necessarily what is right.

  6. I used to think he was over the top with AGW being a "hoax" and just a pretext to empower government - the "green" replacement for "it's for the children" - I thought it was a legitimate but unproven theory and that while some of those pushing it definitely had such collectivist motives, at the core were real scientists who were, perhaps, a bit presumptuous - for example, equating their inability to prove another cause of the warming (in a field, climatology, that they would be the first to argue is in its infancy) with the ability to eliminate all other candidates.   But the more time I spend in this section and the more I read on this issue, the more deception and just outright lies I see from one side of the debate, and the more I become convinced that it is, in fact, a coordinated hoax.

  7. It's because those who adhere so closely to their sheltered world refuse to acknowledge that the pieces of the global warming puzzle do not fit together as nicely as they would have you believe.  And clearly answerers like Dr. Jello and Bob are at polar opposites, but at least both can agree that they can debate the subject rather than taking Dana's approach in insisting that he must be cheating in voting and only appeals to the skeptics when Dana is doing the EXACT same thing with the believer crowd.  It wouldn't surprise me if he advocated revoking the Top Contributor badge he cherishes so much.  And I've also noticed it just kills the alarmist crowd when someone dare take an opposite stance and dissent from popular opinion saying the science is settled when it absolutely is not.

  8. I haven't a clue as why people would express disdain @ him. That's really something no one can afford to do. As it concerns a great deal of endeavor on the emotional level. I simply like his answer and questions on GW, because they aren't expressed in absolutes. There are one or two proponents that also offer feedback/input, and aren't demanding that you agree with them.

  9. Because he deliberately keeps putting out misinformation.  There is no "debate" about global warming or its causes in human activity.

The only people who pretend otherwise fall into one of three categories:

    1) they are ignorant

    2) they are delusional (i.e. conspiracy theorists)

    3) they are paid by the oil companies to disseminate false information.

As to which category Dr. Jello fits in, it hardly matters.  The fact that he has a following that have given him a status he has notearned does not make him right.  Scientific facts are not based on popularity contests--they are based on evidence.

  10. It just shows what's wrong with Yahoo Answers, someone that cannot only be wrong, but demonstrably wrong, over and over again can be the top answerer because his equally ignorant buddies vote for him. He seems to completely incompetent at science but that doesn't matter here.

I think that people that don't know what they're talking about should refrain from answering.

  11. mad?  I don't know why anyone would be mad at Dr. Jello.  He's actually kind of entertaining.  And clearly his being right wouldn't be the cause of anything, because he's definitely not right.

    Edit:

gcnp - Yeah, I agree with you. Those kind of nonsensical answers being chosen as "best" make the entire yahoo point system and top-contributor boards beyond ludicrous.

  12. He's a cheat and a NWO Spy.

    Who is the NWO?

    Why a New World Order?

Is the Old World not good enough to live in?

    Well it should better be!

By the Rate the "FREEMASONS" (No Free No Masons)destroy our Plane we run out of Oxygen in just a few years from NOW.

It is a very simple calculation!

We cut Trees ==> we decrease OXYGEN production

We burn Fossile Fuel ==> We INCREASE Oxygen demand.

At some stagen it will be like Venus, a RUNNAWAY GREENHOUSE EFFECT.

We MUST STOP it before it is to late.

    So Who and Why NWO?

Forget what you think you know because it is all a lie.

Thousands of years misseducation, Lies and Tyranny from the Churches and Slavery from the Aristocrazy.

Who are they, where do they come from?

Well we have to go back and forh in Time.

14.400 Years ago when in our evolution something happened, a sharp rise and 21 December 2012 when the same thing happens again.

I am speaking of the alignement of our solarsystem to the center of the "Multiverse".

By then we will see a wandering planet who Zacharia Stitchin calls "Nibiru".

This Planet has a 3.600 year Rotation Cycle around the Sun.

    3.600 = 60x60 (Seconds in an Hour) 360 Degrees 360 Days

    That is No Coincidence!

Take a good look at OUR HISTORY.

I is an History of WAR.

It is the HISTORY OF AN INVASION!

    THE ORDER OF THE ILLUMINATI!

When you are a "FREEMASON" then most them stop at the third degree, unaware that there exist higher degrees up to the 33rd Degree in two different Paths:

The "YORK RITE" and the "SCOTTISH RITE"

At the 33rd Degree Ritual they are asked: "Do you beleive in Jesus?".

If they answer :YES they hear ==> "Your Journey comes to an end, You completed the circle".

If they answer :NO they hear ==> "There is a Higher Path waiting for you. Are you willing to step above?"

This higher path is called: "THE ORDER OF THE ILLUMINATI"

Contrary to what people think it means, here is a detailed explanation.

ILLUMINATI ==> ILLUMINATE ==> SET ALIGHT ==> SET ON FIRE ==> AQUIRE POWER

THE ORDER OF THE ILLUMINATI ==> THE ONES THAT CAME TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE

And you ONLY get in this club if you have BLUE BLOOD in your Veins.

Get it? Blue Blood, NOT RED!

Whatever it is really blue doesn't matter but it is an indicator of BIG Difference between US and THEM!

They, the "Ruling Class" KILL US, STARVE US, USE US, ENSLAVE US, BETRAY US.

They do everything to make our live miserable and WE PAY FOR IT!

So where does this "BLUE BLOOD" come from?

It is ALIEN ORIGIN, that's for sure!

But how and from which planet?

To understand this you must understand that life exists as energy alone.

    Why is that?

    Because LIFE IS AN ENERGY.

And it comes from the one place all energy comes from, from the Sun.

All life is a manifestation of this energy in one form and another.

AND LIFE EXISTS ON THE SUN, Life that is PLASMA ENERGY based.

    Proof?

If one looks closely at Sunspots one finds that it has an outer "SHELL" of energy and an inside.

It is exacly like an egg in characteristics.

Furthermore it "TAKES ENERGY IN" that is indicated by the cooler temperatures that make a Sunspot appear darker then it's surroundings.

Again we have the characteristics of an Egg that takes the warmth of the sun or the mother to grow.

Sunspots have a 12 Year cicle from No to High Acivity.

    This is their incubation Time.

    From Fertilization to Birth.

Our Incubation Time is 9 months, others come in all different ranges.

This Twelve Year Cicle is manifested in Astrology and in the Chinese Zodiac.

It is on how much influence they have over us.

They are a HIGH ENERGY BASED LIFE FORM.

We are a LOW ENERGY BASED LIFE FORM.

Now connect the Dots between the ORDER OF THE ILLUMINATI and the SUN.

LUCIFER ==> Latin: "The Light Bearer" another Word for the Sun.

The CULT OF AEON ==> AEON ==> THE SUN

TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE ==> HIGH ENERGY OUTPUT ==> HIGH ENERGY LIFEFORM

FREEMASONS ==> FREE TO ENSLAVE US ==> FREE TO BUILT WALLS AND TEMPLES

SKULL AND BONES ==> PIRATES FREE TO KILL US ==> FREE TO CREATE WAR

WICHCRAFT ==> THE RELIGION OF FREEMASONS AND WICCA ==> IT TEACHES THE USEAGE OF US, "PROFANE GOYIM"

BLOODLINES ==> FOR THEM IMPORANT BECAUSE THEY DO NOT INTERBREED WITH US

ROTSCHILD ==> THE SOURCE OF ALL EVIL

We use only 20% of our menal capacity because we only use one of our senses,

the eyes ==> Hence the "All seeing eye".

Furthermore everything we do is mathematical.

Language is a mathematical concept, so is money, time, everything.

And the FREEMASONS and the ILLUMINATI the ROSECRUTIONS they learn VEDIC MATHEMATICS.

They learn the easy way, the way to use people, "GOYIM"

They learn simpler and learn more because they are richer because they live of us.

    THEY ARE NOTHING BUT PARASITES.

THEY NEED TO BE IDENTIFIED AND ELIMINATED, BEFORE THEY DESTROY US!

  13. I think his answers are well thought out.

But again--- I am probably also on "their" do not like very much--- LIST.  :)

  14. It is either because he's right or that he is not left.

  15. I think he's great to have around, to demonstrate the information available to many skeptics and the interesting reasoning they apply to that information.  He's often not "right", but his perspective can still be revealing as the public discussion involves people with various levels understanding people on this issue.

If we wait for everyone to agree on one "right" answer, we'd never get anything done, so we need to learn to work with people holding different opinions.  I for example believe that CO2 science is sound, but I can demonstrate in 60 seconds that Kyoto and Lieberman-Warner are a failing strategy, so I share common ground with skpetics in opposing them.

Since I don't agree with Jello's interpretation of the science avalable on global warming, I'd like to see him occasionally present a link to some evidence, supporting his own views and indicating that he understands theories before he rejects them.  It would be nice if he would stop repeated postings of the same question, but I guess he's just doing what he thinks works:

"Believers embellish because it gives them the attention they seek. So do I, and it works. People are gullible and tend to follow others."

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

At the other end of the spectrum, his question today on drilling in the midwest was a great one, the first I've seen on that topic.

I'd go so far as to say that he's a model American, demonstrating why we live in a republic, with elected officials to make decisions for us.  We all have just enough information on the issues to make us dangerous, but most of us can't dig deeply enough to be experts.  I just wish our politicians weren't so easily bribed by campaign contributions.  Perhaps Jello should run for office and make money off of the gullible masses he enjoys fooling.

  16. Thank you all for taking the time to talk about me.  I'm very flattered!

I've come to discover over time that science means different things to different people.  If you think I don't understand science just means I don't believe your definition of science.  I believe in objective science, where the knowledge is separated from individuals, or groups as people hold views, prejudices, knowledge that causes them to see or believe in a way that may not be where the facts show.

If you want to believe a group of people, that's your business.  Just don't force me to believe as you because I don't agree with what you believe.

It was one stated that the nice thing about standards is that there's so many to choose from.  That being the case, for definitions I use Merriam Webster as my standard.

Theory: 1: the analysis of a set of facts in their relation to one another

    2: abstract thought : speculation

3: the general or abstract principles of a body of fact, a science, or an art

Theory is a thought process, not knowledge.  Global warming is still a work in progress.  In time we may find a relationship between co2 and temps, but we're not there today.

Since we do not have the knowledge, people can only believe that the data points to one direction or the other.  This is not objective as the conclusion depends on people's interpretation of the data.

Gravity is a natural law and its actions are explained in formulas, and works equally in the universe regardless of the person or group or consensus that does the calculations.  This is why we can send a rocket around the sun and land it almost exactly where planed on another planet million miles away, or it's how he knows when the sun and moon will rise and set.  We know the math, and the math works.

Ted Turner said we would be cannibals.

    http://www.ajc.com/metro/content/news/st...

    Dr. Stephen Hawking said the Earth's temps would reach 450 degrees and rain sulfuric acid;

    http://www.usatoday.com/tech/science/200...

Prince Charles stated that we just have 18 months to act and it would cost $30 trillion to fix global warming

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopi...

New Zealand’s director of Water and Atmospheric Research stated that there would be no beer because of global warming:

    http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,235...

Truth is we will not turn into cannibals, the Earth will never heat up to 450 degrees, it won't rain sulfuric acid, we have more than 18 months, the price tag already increased 50% in less than a month, and we will always have beer.

I don't listen to talk radio.  I am neither concretive nor liberal.  I believe in individual freedom first.  I don’t know why we give the idiots in Washington so much power over our lives.

I compost, I garden naturally, I hike the Appalachian Trail (sections) and other trails in the North Georgia Mountains.  I hunt, fly fish and kayak the local rivers.  I have first hand experience that there is no changes taking place in the wild.

I’m human and make mistakes.  Sometime they slip through and get top answer.  It happens.

No one is ever going to agree with everyone all the time, and I know people will not always accept my views but they work for me.

Now you know me a little better.

Again, thanks for all the kind answers.  I found the question and answers interesting.

  17. Are they? Anyone can write whatever bs they want to get 'top contributor'. It only reflects quantity, not quality.

  18. I'm not mad that Jello is the top answerer, but I'm disappointed, because it makes a mockery out of this forum.  But let me provide an example, by presenting an answer Jello offered to the question linked below:

"Have you ever answered a question on GW, and knew your were right, but didn't get the award?"

    Excerpted from Jello's reply:

"If believers embellish their fact, I figure I can as well. The Earth isn't going to end, we have more than 18 months, the number of hurricanes isn't going to change, it isn't going to rain sulfuric acid or reach 450 degrees, we will not turn into cannibals, and beer will always be with us."

    and:

"We're here to have fun. I doubt anyone takes us seriously. Keep the good answers coming to my questions, and I'll give you credit when due. I would love to see your avatar on the top 10 board. You deserve it more than others."

A top answerer should not "embellish." And in this reply he doesn't offer any evidence of what he considers to be a 'believers' embellished answer.

That answer did make me mad.  I've always prided myself on being honest.  Apparently not everyone here does.  All in the name of fun, I guess.

  19. He dares to express an original thought.  Those who wish to let others think for them find this behavior most upsetting.  Those who wish to tell other what to think find it downright criminal.

  20. I'm not mad.  I'm not even bothered.  Unlike some here, he doesn't block everyone who disagrees with him.

    And he's dead wrong.

Why would you believe some random guy on the Internet instead of most every scientist?

EVERY major scientific organization has issued an official statement that this is real, and mostly caused by us.  The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.

    Good websites for more info:

    http://www.nrdc.org/globalWarming/f101.a...

    http://www.ucsusa.org/global_warming/sci...

    http://www.realclimate.org

    "climate science from climate scientists"

    http://environment.newscientist.com/chan...

  21. Because there are two others that were actually the Top Answers before Dr. Jello that were wiped off the board by cronies of Jello.  Byderrule and Andrew O. were both the Top Answerers of the Environment section.  Both were removed by Yahoo for spurious and targeted efforts by naysayers (trolls) to wipe them off the board by getting their answers considered violations.  It was all completely bogus.  Byderrule started all over again and continuing to be active though.  Jello doesn't belong at the top and only remains there because of unfair practices.

  22. It bothers me because his answers are such low quality.  Pretty much all they say is "nobody can predict the future", which is just useless and wrong.

I personally think it's doing YA users a disservice for a top answerer to be providing misinformation.  YA gives those badges because theoretically, to qualify for top answerer you should know what you're talking about.  By cheating the voting system and appealing to global warming 'skeptics', Jello has bypassed the need to know what he's talking about.

All the 'top answerer' badge means is that the user has given a lot of answers in a particular category, and had a fair number of them chosen as 'best'.  It doesn't mean any of his answers have even been decent or accurate, just that the askers have liked them.  People who are predisposed to agree with Jello's worldview (i.e. 'skeptics') often choose his answers as 'best' even though they're inaccurate.

Basically he doesn't deserve the badge and does YA users a disservice.  I'm not mad about it, but it does bother me a bit.

  23. Being the Top Answerer doesn't mean the answers you give are necessarily correct. Correlation does not necessarily mean causation (excuse the pun). No questioners give 'Best Answer' to the actual best answer, they give it to whoever is most aligned to their original beliefs.

  24. I like Jello

  25. Because he gets "best answer" for responses like this:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

If this isn't point gaming, then he should be ashamed of this misinformed (and misinforming), ill-considered, and just plain wrong response.  You would hope the top answerer in a category had earned the spot based on knowledge rather than trying to make a snarky point.  There are a couple of skeptics who are far more deserving of being a top answerer, they as a rule don't write c**p like in that answer.
