Politics are are full of passion and emotion. That is one of the problems with some...they don't think objectively..they just react.

Excellent question.  Probably no one answer.  Some may be immature.  Some may be ignorant of the issues and find it easier to sling mud rather than do research.  Some may think it's funny to run someone else down.  Some may not have a vocabulary sufficient to express themselves accurately and resort to missives.  And some throw mud because they can.

People have a sense of anonymity so they will not have consequences to their actions (posts).

In psychology it is often referred to the "dis-inhibition effect."

in a word... intolerance... people don't seem to realize that there are many people with many opinions.... and there seems to be quite a few that feel that everyone should have the same opinion (which is intolerance)

Frankly because the lack of rational thought from your typical con is so frightning that it provokes anger.

I believe many are just smart a$$ed school kids that don't know how to think a thing out and just crave a little attention.Some are older under educated people living in mom and dad's basement, no job, and living off the old man's efforts to maintain a home.Then you have the jolly jokers that don't take this site seriously and can state things anonymously so they don't have to actually face a thinking person.
