It's addicting to people because it is such an easy online game compared to the rest, EverQuest and EverQuest 2, AoC, ect.. I think it is more addicting because it is so easy and everyone of all ages can get ahold of that game and figure it out. The communication between live people always is a major factor within that decision as well.

Its really simple.

People get a character and get rewarded for everything (Quest,Leveling,Pvping,....). People feel good that they are rewarded and keep playing. When you hit max level(takes about 14 Days of Play time! Which is 14x24hrs) you will want to have a chance against other players so you will start doing the same thing over and over to get items which you need to compete. Once you are full of average gear (takes about a month or more) you will want to be the best so you will start to get better items and with each item you will improve which makes you feel really good. This process goes on and on with every patch. They will add new better items and people will start grinding for it. If they do not have anything to do they will start a new character and everything will start over.

Besides that it is really fun to compete with other people and to learn the story of World of Warcraft. Some like to just explore the massive world and some like to see characters they saw from the books/previous games. Some like to get rich and some just want to have fun. It is so much to do in this game and there is something for a wide array of gamers/customers.

That's why people are obsessed of World of Warcraft.

i guess its just well...fun i guess

the whole attacking thing and stuff is frusterating it makes it addictive and somehow interesting.although,i belive its just people who are in the wrong mind to play a stupid game like WoW

so warcraft makes us feel important and good at things.

Yeah...you have to pay for it monthly, AND it's embarrassing to admit you play it. It's way too nerdy of a game to play for me...
