Why are people so obsessed with perfection? Are we all beginning to look the same?

Does anybody else get annoyed with the obsession for cosmetic surgery? I think people should work with what they have rather than opting for fake b***s, botox, nose jobs, tummy tucks, hair extensions etc.

Woman are indeed losing their originality. I've always been a non conformist -never the type to follow suit! I say be proud, different and individual!

I don't get annoyed but I do think it's sad that some people are so obsessed with their idea of perfection (or what the media project as perfection) that they go to extreme lengths to try to achieve it.

I believe that for some people (not all, as I don't want to generalise), 'perfecting' their looks is a way of controlling a part of their lives (the physical aspect) to compensate for not being able to control other areas of their lives (relationships, family issues, self-esteem problems etc). It's a way of 'dealing with' their problems I think. It's just my opinion...I could be wrong :)
