  1. Because anything outside of the perceived norm is a threat to people. Our society is based on the concept/ideals of interaction and it scares society to see people who live outside of this ideal.

  2. I don't even recall having ever felt threatened by loners. They're probably the ones I'd feel most comfortable befriending first, but I guess that's only because I'm pretty anti-social myself...

  3. Unfortunately,  in the last decade, there have been senseless murders committed by some disturbed "loners".

Personally I chose to be a loner but when I want to be  around peers of my choosing they know I'm outspoken and call it the way I see not the way they want to hear it---whatever "it" is in the discussion.  Most people want you to think the way they do and agree with them on whatever subject.

Most loners are ignored because the % are the way they are due to previous (usually childhood) traumatizing.  They don't like to take chances of being hurt ever again so being a loner exempts one from social activities, phone calls etc..

  4. Maybe it's because of fear of what they don't know about the person. I am sort of a loner myself, but I hope that no one is threatened by me, because I have no plans to harm anyone.

  5. because whenever you hear of a tradegy at school or someone is murdered......its always the loner.

  6. it could be because some loners are psycos..... and they dont understand something that wont interact with them

  7. agree with answers & here's another answer for you

Many people are so insecure they feel they MUST fit in with the crowd hence their fear of the loner..and not always justified

  8. I don't think it's the loners everyone's afraid of, it's those people that look like they might blow-up the places where we work. Usually these people are loners, but just because someone is a loner does not make them even a little suspicious in my opinion.

  9. Because you never really know what a loner is thinking or feeling. He keeps it all to himself .
