Why are people so trusting of cops?

Why do people use the fact that cops are humans as an excuse for them making mistakes, but don't seem to realize that they are humans when they give them extra power and a gun? Why don't people try to resolve things themselves and keep cops out of things?

cause like you said they got the power but the persons morals could be wrong you know but there has been crooked cops too so its just all bullshit

Who trust's cops? From the time I started delivering newspapers in the early morning hours, I found that cops would harass me any time the felt like it. They would take my ID and make me stand outside in the snow while they "checked my story". When I started driving, an emergency light came on behind me, and I pulled over to the side to allow it to pass. The SOB gave me a ticket for speeding. Said "I turned on the light and you were the only one that stopped"! My kids (elementary age) helped their teachers at the school near our house. There was a break in and vandalism. They reported it and were pushed shoved and verbally abused by the cops. Next door neighbor beat a bogus speeding ticket in court. Next week cops hung around and frequently tried their doors. When they found the garage door unlocked,they went in. A couple hours later neighbors came home and cops "raided " their garage and busted them for drug possession.Three different folks saw the pot planted!! The stories can go on for hours  I'm a white middle class working type. I read of cops shooting citizens for no legitimate reason every day. I DO NOT TRUST COPS I fear them and that's what they want!!!!!!!

The cops are seen as an arm of authority, therefore there is a high chance that the presence of authority will bring down justice upon the heads of the guilty (along with everyone else).

But you are right.

They don't need Guns, just better armour.

do you mean like ring the cops if someone is breaking into your house? probabley because your in the **** if you shoot them yourselves

I dont trust cops for ****!!! I ran from them once it might of not been the best idea but I got away from his *** for awhile. Then his *** caught me in the schools courtyard and I was outta breath. Cops suck ***!!!!
