  1. CHINA is already CHAMPION BEIJING 2008 OLYMPIC GAMES

  2. yea people really dont understand the budget for the olympics, they think we are paying for the whole thing too when the truth is boris even said that 1billion of it is coming from our pockets, and that becomes such a small amount we are paying each when divided up between all of us. i calculate it to be about £16 each which isnt much at all.

people in this country are too negative what is the point of trying to make our games look bad before they have even built the facilities.

    PiNG PoNG is coming home!

  3. And that £10 billion will help create a lot of jobs, unlike the £50 billion that went towards getting rid of jobs!

  4. very good question, and i wonder why too. And those who keep on criticising the games being in London, and that it  should be Londoners picking up the tab, that pisses me off as its not only Londoners who will get the benefits, and the athletes will come from all parts of UK

  5. It's kind of like asking why people are complaining about Iraq when we're still fighting in Afghanistan. It's 2 separate issues, both causing a lot of anger in Britain.

Northern Rock was a big business disaster that our elected government decided to pay for from our taxes. Interesting that you compare the Olympics to it...

We live in a country that is struggling while bleeding the working people dry while spending our taxes on absurd "causes".

Like most Brits (statistically) I have no interest in the Olympics. We are not in a position to host the Olympics as the money is needed desperately within our own country.Yes, it will make money for big businesses who are already doing well but it will not help Britain or tax payers or working people.

We already project a loss in the dismantling of useless stadiums...

You are utterly right to question Northern Rock though - will be on a par with the eventual cost of the Olympics if it's 50 Billion?

  6. Cos we never hear the bad side, just the side they want us to hear.  Its also strange that loads of politicians had accounts with northern rock, with very large amounts of cash in.

  7. the money spent on the olympics was for a celebration

the money spent on the war on the middle east was for destruction and i believe that figure goes into the trillions

  8. There is a huge difference between every tax-payer paying out £3 or so for the Olympics (which we will ALL benefit from) and paying out for a company to stay afloat simply to make the share-holders happy and to keep voters in the North in jobs.

Personally, I have had enough of the incompetent bunch of idiots in Westminster, so far up their white towers they have no idea what ordinary life is about any more (if they ever did).
