Why are people wanting my personal information?

Question

People are wanting my personal information from everywhere from my email to some that i talk to online. I know its a trick but once they get it exactly what can they gain from it? My emails say that i have won something to get it shipped to me and my friends say that they need it because they need it for some silly reason.But i dont understand what they can do with it that would do them any good,please enlighten me as to what harm it will do me..Thanks,,

it's always a scam that those types of websites do in order to access your bank or they can even reposes some of ur items,... the best thing to do if u get asked any type of these personal questions is to IMMEDIATELY go away from that page cause if u start typing they can track down where u are and give u spam that can start a whole new problem!!!!!!!

If they get enough information about you they can then pretend to be you. It's called Identity Theft and is one of the fastest growing crimes. People have even given credit card and bank details to these scammers, you can guess what happens to your bank balance. Tell the nothing just delete the scams and be careful.

almost every place online that asks you for personal information is trying to scam you.They either want to get into your bank account( if you have one) or identity theft you in some other way.

If your friends are asking your for personal information.. then they are not your friends.. dump them.

The information business is big dollars on the internet. Those emails you receive that tell you you have won something and all you have to do is pay the shipping and handling.. are theives.. delete them with out opening them.. some contain spies and viruses and can infect your computer by simply opening them up.

There are some social networking sites that are similar to MySpace, Facebook, Friendster, etc. that are actually email warehousing sites..

When you join them they are insistent on getting you address book from your email so they may invite all your friends to join you there.. WRONG! I made the mistake of joining one of those places and as soon as they got their hands on my address book in my Yahoo mail.. my friends and my self were dumped on by hundreds of spam emails.

There are some online buisness that pay people a nickle for every email address they can give them, that is working and accessible.

Money is made from companies who hire these websites to reach the people with their advertising their products.

Most of the businesses who use these kinds of advertising sites are pornography.

I am very sure in my information to you about this.. do not ever give out any kind of personal information to anyone on the internet.. even when you sign up for an account on a website.. never give your actual information there . Yes I am telling you to lie.

Never use a major credit card that is a revolving credit card in your name.. You can purchase prepaid Visa and Mastercards at the Dollar Store even.. and if someone hacks into the site and gets your credit card number that is prepaid.. they will get what ever money is left on that card instead of your entire line of credit on a revolving credit card..

Do not, under any circumstances give out any personal  information about yourself to anyone or any company unless you instigated the contact. Nigeria is infamous about sending scam e-mails as an e-mail contains a lot of personal information.
