  1. it comes from the dish of meat  and vegetables that is stewed until cooked called lobscouse,i think it comes from a scandanavian language, its a dish the poor people of liverpool used to eat as a staple diet

  2. It just means you were probably born in liverpool and you have a dialect from that area.

scouse is also some sort of english stew that sailors ate.

    It also means party!!

  3. ads

  4. I think (not 100% sure) that it has something to do with a dish they used to serve in liverpool called 'scouse'` which was a kind of potato ash. I dont know why scousers are disliked but when i have met them (my husband is one) they are very loud especially the girls! (just my opinion)  they are no different from manc's or brummies, they support a better football team though...

  5. From 'Lobscouse',a type of stew.

Have you heard the scouse accent? The worst in Britain!

  6. seamen,as in sailors would eat fish stew called "scouce",hence the name scoucer!

  7. It's named after the dish, scouse ( a kind of stew with meat and vegetables that is famous here in Liverpool). This is because the Liverpool accent is heavily influenced by lots of other accents, such as Welsh, Scottish and Irish, (after a lot of immigration to here from those places), it has a 'bit of everything', just like the dish.
