Well i know that are to small for some hermit crabs but like micro hermit crabs could live in the larger sizes of them, but everyone says plastic tanks dont hold in humidity and heat, is that becuase of the the lid it has?? My grandma covered the lid on her plastics hermit crab tank and it keeps the humidity at 75-80%. And plus it has plenty of room for her tiny hermit crabs, the reason im asking is becuase me and my sister want to get micro hermit crabs but we wanna get a plastics tank at first and after a year get a 10 gallon, if we got a plastic tank we are going to wrap it in saran wrap to keep it humid

  1. Plastic doesn't hold in heat well, and covering it in saran wrap could definitely be tricky.

if you go with the larger size, yes they can survive, but might as well go for the 10 gallon, since they're usually $10 for the tank alone and maybe $20 if you get a hood with lights built in, and save yourself the middle step, and give your hermit crabs a better place to live from the get go! you can also do alot more in the 10 g for them, like put more plants and branches for them to climb and stuff.
