I want so bad to fit into the clothes all the skinny ppl are wearing from stores like this but they are made for realy skinny ppl! Its so unfair!!!!! It makes ppl like me feel like we are not good enough for the clothes everyone else is wearing :(. I have cried alot about this in my past...why does the image always have to be "skinny is pretty"?

  1. i feal exactly the same

  2. I mean they go up to size 12, which is relatively big, especially for young teens.  A size 12 is not "skinny"

They just do not have a plus size store.

Try shopping at a plus size store or lose a few pounds..

  3. it depends on what size you wear but they both have sizes up to 11 and 12 in jeans and have large sizes for tops.

i think a&f sizes are bigger because i wear smaller sizes there than hollister.

also if you really can't seem to find your size in a&f or hollister, there's always american eagle :] they have bigger sizes and have really cute stuff too :D

and i think the whole "skinny is pretty" image is horrible.

i mean if you see all of these celebrities on tv nowadays, kids grow up with "must be skinny" embeded into their brain.

i'm not saying being obese or fat is healthy, but being stick skinny is so dangerous, yet its considered beautiful!

don't feel too down, as long as you are happy with your body, it shouldn't matter what other people think of you. :]

  4. i wear a M  and its like an XS  there supposed to tight like that and show your whitey 4 arms

the clothes anrnt supposed to be like those big ol gangstas who wear it down to there crotch "or hang low"

i would get a bigger size so it wont be so tight but not that bigger

i would say ask the staff 4 wat they think but there a bunch of bitchs and are all ways pissed

btw abercrombie is the kids store abercrombie and fitch is the store your thinking of

  5. well skinny people look better in their clothes, because theyre tight fitting... and that is so untrue.. hollister has alot of bigger sizes than x-small and small, you just have to look harder. and they definatly do in jeans so i dont know where your getting this from. and duh abercrombie wont have big sizes, its for little kids. try abercrombie and FITCH you'll have better luck.

  6. I totally feel your pain! I've left stores in tears more than once!

Here's the deal: stores like A&F cater to the affluent, and generally speaking, affluent people really are thinner than the rest of the population. (This is a fact.) That's why you find smaller and smaller clothes-- down to size 0!-- as the stores get more and more expensive. They're designing and selling for what THEY have determined is their "average customer"-- not for the actual average customer walking through the doors. Even though the prices at A&F aren't all that high, it's a matter of maintaining their "brand image."

So I guess you could say it's not about size discrimination, it's about good old-fashioned class discrimination!

  7. They make a variety of sizes there, just look for them! :)

  8. Occasionally they'll have bigger sizes. But yeah, I agree with you. I am pretty skinny, only with a slight belly. Normal, I guess. But I even have trouble getting into my Abercrombie shirts!

You could try Delia's, Wet Seal, Kohl's, Boston Store, etc. They make higher quality clothes made for healthy people.

  9. They arent just for skinny people. They range all the way to extra large. If the extra large still doesnt fit you who cares? Go to another store. There are tons of stores that have all different kinds of cute clothes in different sizes. You dont have to always wear "popular" clothes. That just shows you want to be like everybody else which isnt always a good thing.

  10. Skinny isn't pretty a the time. And beauty depends on the eyes of the person. And I hate that too! :)

  11. well, i am a thin person so I will talk from my perspective. I think its girls like you who actually get more attention. Guys are always talking about girls with "curves' and big "butts and b***s" and skinny people lack that most of the time. People always assume you are anorexic or have an eating disorder, it sucks! Or you have people always saying "your too skinny go eat a pizza or something" That is so annoying! Usually when I go shop at really trendy stores there is a big gap on the jeans and i have like a space in the butt area, or the boob area in a shirt sags and it looks horrible. I wear Abercrombie because like you said, it fits a skinny frame.

  12. why dont you try putting on a size large or xl (or however your female sizes go) instead of the small sizes?

and yea you are right, i do notice their sizes are small. like a small there is actually like an extra small.

  13. Honey, be yourself and ignore all the retards telling you to change. Abercrombie clothing is c**p anyway. And Abercrombie is racist.

  14. It sucks being normal sized cause clothes are either made for extremely large people or for extremely tiny people and at places like abercrombie and hollister there is no happy medium so why not try other stores like the Gap (it sounds lame but there are some cute clothes). By the way I usually wear a medium but because of my stupid b***s i have to wear a size bigger and it feels better when it's looser so try going up a size. I know it sucks wearing larger sizes but don't let that bother you.

    I don't know if I answered your question but I hope I helped :~)

  15. hollister and abercrombie do have bigger sizes

it's not that they're only carrying clothes made for skinny people it's that they are carying clothes in the most common sizes so that they can sell more.

    you just have to look.

  16. I' m  very skinny but have large breast. I wondered that same thing for a while. Why are all the cute bras for sizes 32a-36c??? The large breasted women have to buy grandma ( if you will) looking bras. I am not sure why but just letting you know skinny ppl have issues too and to love yourself.

  17. Your body is perfect for you. Don't let anyone- not a department store, not the media, not anyone- tell you differently. Skinny is pretty, but being confident in your own skin (and at your own shape) is gorgeous.

  18. its true. i went into hollister and i asked why the clothes were so small and they said they don't want "fat" people wearing there clothes.

    i was like efff that.

there are way cuter clothes that aren't made for twigs.

  19. yea the smalls are for skinny people - if you rmore then xl there your more then jst " wide "

  20. honestly, just be yourself. i know thst the corniest thing to say, but dont try so hard to fit in, if your yourself people will come to you.  and anyways, in my opinion i hate hollister and abercrombie, those clothes are for preppy wanna bees!, no offense to anybody who likes them, but its true!

and i dont think "model" skinny is pretty, i think its gross.  just wear things that will make you feel comfortable!

  21. Hmm... That's a good question. I think that the designers think that the type of people who wear their clothing are the type who want to be skinny so badly that they'll do anything to achive it so they make small clothing. A brand name doesn't mean the clothes are cute. There are adorable plus size places out there equally cute to hollister. Don't cry. Cheer up! Eat healthy and get excersize. Food is out friend, were meant to eat.

  22. well they are made for like teenagers

and they do have larger sizes

    you just havent looked.

why does everyone think that theyre stuck up if you wear abercrombie and all that?

    they have good clothes

maybe not such a good price

    but still.

they also have larger sizes online, so check there.

  23. they think that to be preppy you have to be skinny, or to be stylish you have to be skinny, so thats why they dont make clothes for thicker people. i know, it drives me crazy too.

  24. healthy is pretty.  you have to change your mindset.  you need to remember--society has expectations of what a womans body should be.  and it is a unrealistic expectation.  not everyone is that thin.  i have not shopped at those stores in many years for exactly the reason you stated.  but there are other stores with cute clothes for teens that will fit you.  i am not skinny.  i am healthy--5'6 and weigh 135.  that could be considered fat for some, but i dont care.  i am strong, i have alot of muscle , i work out regularly and i eat good.  try stores like--kohls, jcpenney, old navy, gap, belk, even sears has cute stuff now.  the clothes are out there.  just try to focus on forgetting the brands and loving yourself for your size and dressing it properly  (to fit).  clothes that fit are very flattering to any size.  brand names will not mean anything in a few years (when you get older, no one cares), so go ahead and break the mold.  good luck
