Why are pregnant teens.....???

treated so harshly in our society today?? I watched the video from the Good Morning America interview with one of the pregnant girls from MA and in the comments people kept calling her "s**t" and "w***e" and saying things like "learn to keep your legs shut." Why are people so mean?

I'm not saying that it's okay to get pregnant as a teen, but I don't understand why people have to be mean like that. Just because a teen is pregnant doesn't mean that she is a s**t.

What do you think?? (sorry if it sounds like I'm ranting)

I agree to. People who make judgmental, derogatory comments like that are no better then the pregnant teens they "look down" on.

I agree that society is harsh on pregnant teenagers. I think this is wrong and this needs to stop! Just because someone made a mistake, this doesn't mean a bad label has to stick with them for the rest of their lives. Teenage pregnancy is quite common today, so why are they making so many pregnant teens feel like the minority, when they really aren't alone. Many pregnant teenagers are good people, and they aren't "s***s" or "whores" but actually human beings with good hearts. I think society forgets that teenagers feel a lot of pressure to have s*x nowadays and some of these teens are even being raped. This is not right!

I think you are right. Just b/c a teen is pregnant does not mean she is a s**t. People can be just down right horrible to other people. I think some people feel good to put others down.

Teenagers are meant to have babies. Hence the reason we start our periods at 11 or 12. Society isn't ok with this. I think if it were, it would be a lot different.

I don't think it makes them s***s but it does make them irresponsible, especially the MA teens. How are they going to support their babies? Is it fair to a child to have a 17 yr old mom who has no clue what sacrifices and financial obligations are required? Is it fair to all of us taxpayers when most of those moms go on welfare that comes out of our paychecks? Is it right to make the parents of those teens support a baby they didn't want? Is it fair to the teen herself to never have a chance to be a young adult, go out clubbing and having fun in their early 20's, meeting the right guy without being bogged down by a small child? What about the fathers? You think a teen father is going to be devoted and stable like a child needs?

to me, i would not say bad things to the pregnant teens but the parents of these teens must be aware and should have atleast 95% time to watch thier teen kid's cos that is their responsibility.. here in my country most of the mothers are too protective, they don't give much freedom to their teen kids.. ( just like my mom)..teens here could not easily meet guys/girls, go on dates, or sleep to friend's house.. Parents here are like NO I dont ALLOW THAT, DO THIS, do not be late..I do not want you to have a relationship untill you are graduate in College... Even if you are 18years old but still you are under my care, NO DATES ..... Focus your studies first not dates...Etc..

i think parents must give constant attention to their teens thats all i can say..

I am agreeing with you one 100% and i think that people should not discriminate pregnant teen cause come of these teen could have been rape or even force to have s*x,and when they realize they are pregnant, they felt like the one to be blame, but really they are not. and there is nothing that the could do about it.

I completely agree with you. Society has not yet clued in that putting down and verbally abusing pregnant girls is not helping the cause. And where are the harsh words for the men impregnating them? I say if you are a person that hates it so strongly channel your anger into something positive and start helping the cause by empowering teens through teaching them about abstanance, s*x and pregnancy.

I do not believe that a teen should be look at unfavorably because they got pregnant out of love or due to something that may have happened out of their control.

However the teens in MA intentionally got pregnant with complete disregard of the financial burden it put on their families, boyfriends as well as in many cases the state and taxpayers who may have to pay to raise these kids due to their inability to support them at 17yrs old.

I have no problem supporting a teen who makes a mistake or needs assistance to getting back on track as long as they do not use it as an opportunity to ride the system.

To me a s**t is some one who sleeps around with complete disregard of the consequences and has numerous partners.

I tell my own daughters that they should not be having s*x unless they can handle and support the child that may be a result of their actions. If they can't they should not be having s*x then.

From the reports I have been hearing the teens in MA slept around with many partners trying to get pregnant at the same time and will not admit to who the fathers are. s***s? Possibly.

The bottom line is you cannot generalize all pregnant teens as s***s and I would never judge. However more teens should look long and hard in the mirror and decide themselves if they are s***s or behaving S****y.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time as they say!

Personally I do think many kids today treat s*x way to casually but to call them all or all pregnant teens s***s is way out of line.

Many girls have s*x with their boyfriends because they are at the time deeply in love with them and some get pregnant. These girls are not s***s in my opinion.
