Why are presidential elections every 4 years?

why not every 3 or 5 why is it 4??

George Washington set the precedence for that. He went 4 years and said, that is long enough, its time to re-elect.

Because its a balance of power within the diffrent levels of Govenment. Every branch severs a diffrent number of year. The reason our founding fathers did that was because they wanted a balance of power. They also didnt want our Govenment to become a monarchie so that is why everyone serves diffrent terms.
