Why are psychiatrists so d**n expensive?

I am 21 and I was seeing a psychiatrist to get adderall (I had trouble concentrating)

It cost $70 per appt. and he made me come once a month. He made me talk for 25 minutes straight and he wouldn't respond. Then he just handed me a script.

The adderall does help me concentrate but it is not worth the $70 per month plus the perscription cost?

Why did he make me come so d**n much? I would just say "Yeah my adderall is helping..." Then I would feel like I had to make up problems because he told me to keep talking. So I would say "Um I guess I have anxiety about the paper I have due Thursday..."

Can I just go to a family doctor and get adderall?

Be happy my 1 hr visits cost $350.00 every 2 weeks Can your family dr write it for you

Check with your family doc.  S/he should be able to write you 'scripts.  As to pdoc costs... the going rate for MD specialists, which is what psychiatrists are, is not cheap.
