Whether for personal or breeding or showing purposes .. why are rabbit hutches kept so far off the ground? Why not let the little bunnies on the ground? What if you have a big yard for your happy bunnies? Surely there is a purpose to rabbit hutches.

  1. Being on the ground outside is fine, inside you need a bottom to your cage and rabbits sitting in their f***s is not good...they can ruin their feet bad...so they make legged cages with removable trays.....plus with other animals it gives them a feeling of safety being further away (especially wild animals). Sometimes it's better with males to help control the spraying.

  2. so that the hutch doesnt get damp and go rotten !!!

the rabbits can go on the ground

  3. have you ever had a rabbit?...they p**p alot so they use metal mesh bottem cages off the ground so the poopies fall through if you dont they will walk around in there own p**p and pee and stain there fir and feet its not pretty hope this helps (:

  4. 1.the grass and ground soaks up water and could rot out the wood

2.If you leave them in the hutch overnight, they can die of a heart-attack from being afraid of another animal coming too close from the outside of the cage

    3. Not all hutches are far off the ground.  mine isn't even a foot off the ground

  5. Height to keep them safe from predators. Keeps them from having to walk on their own waste, etc.

  6. Well one reasen is because it is safer from wild animals. It makes it harder for a cat or racoon to get into the cage if they have to jump to undo it.

  7. weasels, coons, fox and other animals can get them.  You don't have any rabbits, do you?  Plus the droppings can fall through and they are not living in their own urine and f***s
