  1. Full meaning and background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redneck_(st...

  2. Because they are people who generally work out in the hot sun (bending over digging, picking cotton, etc.), so the backs of their necks get sunburned.

I really hate the term rednecks, because the  people who use it usually haven't met one.  Most of the "rednecks" I know are much more moral, caring, and friendly  than the people who call them rednecks!  Some people use the term "redneck" when they really mean "white trash."

The UK has "rednecks" also, of course!

  3. Because they typically wear jeans, a t-shirt, and a cowboy hat or some other type of hat. In this attire, their necks burn while the rest of their bodies stay white. The arms typically tan.

  4. Used as a disparaging term for a member of the white rural laboring class, especially in the southern United States.

A white person regarded as having a provincial, conservative, often bigoted attitude.

    so yeah, american attitude lol.

  5. REALLY IT COMES FROM ALONG TIME AGO BACK IN THE EARLY 1900S WHEN MEN USED TO TRAVEL IN A CARRIAGE AND THE HORSE WOULD BE IN THE FRONT PULLING THE CARRIAGE...THE GUY WOULD PUT THE ROPE FROM THE HORSE AROUND HIS NECK AND THAT WOULD MAKE HIS NECK RED...BUT NOW PEOPLE RELATE IT TO PEOPLE BEING COUNTRY..WE LEARNED THAT IN GEOGRAPHY

  6. A poor White person in the southern United States....

  7. It is a childish word to make fun of southern people and small towns/villages people
