Why are rich people always so selfish?

What i have seen in the world makes me feel sad. Always seeing the people with a litle bit off money giving other people things. But the rich people keep everything to hisself. What is that mind thinking of them? I can't understand that. To they only think about sweet 16!!!!!

Many (but certainly not all) rich people are dependent on material possessions for their happiness. They devoted their life, and thought they could finally be happy if they obtained all of these "things" they wanted. When they finally had what they wanted, they still weren't happy. They try to solve this by getting more and more "things". With the need for more and more all the time, the last thing they want to do is give anything up.

Have you researched this subject? I have heard of a great many philanthropic acts by very wealthy people. Oprah, Jay Leno, Ted Turner and Michael Bloomberg come to mind.

Be careful about making generalizations, like- I could judge you on your grammar, but I don't know the circumstances well enough.

Not all rich people but most (don't want to generalize) think that if you are poor, it's because you are lazy or don't work hard enough or you are just bad at how you spend your money.. They don't understand that not everyone was born with a silver spoon in their mouth..Even if my family were rich, they would not give me a dime.. just the way they are. They would give my brother the world and not care if I starved to death.. They have never had to live poor or they might change their way of doing things. I have a friend who is RICH and when I say something about having money problems he's like "why don't you try to go to work (he knows I am on disability) " or he just treats me like I am making the whole thing up..  A lot of it is the way they were raised. I was raised to help others in need and if my neighbor were starving I would give them my last can of soup and I would do without but had I been raised to "work hard and not feel sorry for anyone".. I might think differently.. I am not justifying anything because they are the very ones who want to yell "nobody needs welfare..those lazy bums" but unless they walk in our shoes.. they will never get it

They are because since they have so much money they can get there wanted item right away so they just get it instead of earning it, what i meen is they are so bossy and meen because there used to getting what they want but i your not rich you will have to earn or work for the item.

That is how they became rich.  Otherwise they would have given it away and be like you and me.

That may not be always true, but more often than not, it is.

"Selfishness" is an innate quality of the rich...that is what helped them get where they are, coz they thought only about "me", i.e,  themselves. Its also a direct consequence of this selfishness that the rich feel less love and less gratitude for their fellow human beings. That is the way the world is, coz that's what money does to one.

The true challenge is to cling onto your values even after you're rich.

P.S. You should watch VH1 My Sweet Sixteen or The Fabulous Life of the Rich and Famous. Those shows really define "selfishness".
