Why are satisfied customers important to a business?

I am conducting some reseacrh and I want to know what you think about why satisfied customers are important e.g. Tesco or ASDA?

  1. Why satisfied customers are important to a business?

    Because if you want to stay in business and have repeat customers so you always have a solid customer base who then also tells other people positive experiences and not negative experiences so they too come to your business and then hopefully become repeat customers then doing the same thing....you better have satisfied customers.


  2. because customers tend to buy products they know, and it's much more difficult to convince someone to buy your product for the first time then to retain a customer that has already bought your product and is satisfied about it

  3. Well, if your customers aren't satisfied, they'll start spreading bad word about your company/business. You'll get a bad reputation, and reputation is one of the things that matters a lot in business. If you have a bad reputation, you'll get less customers because they'll rather put their money into a business that has a good reputation.

    Works the other way around, too. Make your customers happy, and they'll spread a good word around. People will hear of the good word and think your company is reliable, and this will bring more customers to your company.

    Also, if somebody buys a bad product one time, they aren't likely to buy anything else from you. They'll take their chances, and their business, someplace else.

  4. They will pass the word on about your company to others that you do good business, thus increasing your sales.

  5. Because there are competitors who would be more than happy to take care of customers who were not satisfied elsewhere.  Satisfied customers equals profit and prosperity.  Unsatisfied customers equals bankruptcy and failure.

  6. New customers are expensive to attract.  You need so much sales or advertising effort to attract a new customer.  One-time customers are not profitable for most business.  The long-term client and repeat customers bring ongoing revenue without the acquisition expense.
