Question:

Why are scary movies having a different effect on me?

Not that long ago, I would be able to watch scary movies, be a little freaked out for a little while, then get over it before the night was over. Lately movies have put all these images in my head of things that could happen. For example, "House of Wax," I get freaked out being in front of any open areas, because I'm afraid some guy will chop my leg with scissors. And I just saw "Prom Night," now I'm afraid some guy will come to my house. It could be because my sister has told me she learned some freaky things about where I live since she got an internship at our courthouse, or maybe it's just because I feel like this world is full of so many people like that. Yes, I know it's just a movie, but what if some wackjob watched that movie and gets ideas or picks up tricks? Right now I won't even go to bed until my sister gets home, and it's already 1AM. Any advice or insight?

  1. Sounds like you're too Impressionable to handle such graphic content, just now... -Switch to watching Romances or Comedies (& REMEMBER; Brad Pitt is MARRIED ! ) until you stop getting so freaked out   :)

  2. Some things can creep you out normally that you'd think wouldn't. I've lived with fear my whole life being OCD. The smallest things can make me nervous. The best way to handle it (in my experience) is to just face your fears. I know its not the most original answer but I hope it helped either way. Good luck :)
