We have cures to diseases,we have ways of providing energy for the masses at cut price rate and we have many inventions to be invented but we are being prevented from even thinking about them for fear they will become reality

  1. That is life. It is the way it has always been.

  2. Because scientists are rarely in positions of power.  Crooked politicians hold the power positions.  They use the power for whomever gives them the most money.

  3. Because scientists are not clever enough to come up with good ways of marketing these things and of getting someone to make money with them.

  4. Much of the scientific community has been corrupted by political dogma or political correctness.  There are also financial interests.  If you look at the billions of dollars spent researching "global warming" or "global climate change" you see an entire organism whose existence is threatened if scientist publish articles which debunk such theories.

  5. Unfortunately, the people holding back scientific progress are capable of reducing a person's reputation to that of a science assistant - you might get a mention in a report, but it'll be a side-note.

Little personal gain is associated with scientific progress in modern culture, and going up against the employer is a good way to lose your job.

Nevertheless, the scientific community is a movement by it's nature.

  6. 'You can't stop progress'

  7. I don't think they're afraid to stand up to opposers, I just think that the government won't allow it as of yet. Certain people have the "power" and won't let anything get passed them if they don't like it.

  8. Greedy, frivolous people that have corporations selling junk-products would be quickly dismissed by the consumer should such beneficial, viable and genuine products ever be made available. So when these cures/products/etc ever surface, these corporations buy-out these 'inventions' with the promise they never make it to market, or the rights to these products are acquired by the corporations making it illegal for the inventors to provide them to the public.

Greedy and frivolous people p!ss and moan if anyone tries to take their toys away.
