  1. i spose they r just scared

  2. yeah bit soft when in the real aussie game AFL it encoraged

  3. As pukebob said, the rules state that you must use your arms in the tackle. Whether it's in league, union or AFL it is a cheap shot.

Unfortunately, I agree with you, league is getting slow and boring, five hit ups and a kick. Very depressing.

  4. Back in 1997 a South African fly half named Cyril McDangley attempted a shoulder charge on his New Zealand opposite Jimmy Bob Whukstain. Unfortunately for poor Jim Bob he mistimed his hit. As he lept into the air shoulder first he collected JBW right underneath the chin and took his head clear off. Some people say Jim Bob never really had his head screwed on right, others say he had a habit of loosing his head in high pressure games. Nevertheless the rugby union comittee outlawed the tackling technique and can now only be seen on late night tv and in illegal black market shoulder charging contests under railway bridges.

  5. Shoulder charges can be lethal if executed properly.  I guess they are banned in softer games like Union and AFL because the players arent tough enough to take a hit.

Many coaches dont encourage shoulder charges because they hardly ever work.  Usually an attempted shoulder charge results in a defender going straight around you.

Shoulder charges are one of the most spectacular sights in sport! (and embarrasing if you miss)

  6. Woof, Woof Dawggy, I am in charge here , they are banned because I say they should be,,,understand, Now SIT..theres a good boy

  7. The rules state that the arms must be used in the tackle. Most shoulder charges are a cheap shot anyway.
