  1. The snake has long been associated with deceit and duplicity since Genesis, when Adam and Eve were tricked into eating the forbidden fruit. Beware of slithery creatures in your path, appearing harmless and friendly, lying in wait: they have forked tongues, are masters of deception, and their venom is deadly.

  2. Not all snakes are venomous but the ones that are can certainly deliver a punch.

I would have to say that the treachery part probably came from the bible with Adam and Eve and with the pictorial of Satan as a snake.

The comparison to 'men who espouse peace and harmony but do not really know the true meaning of the words' can, for the record, also apply to women.

There are women who pretend to be friendly but, for the slightest reason, will vilely and cowardly attack, like a snake, and then curl up and watch the ensuring proceedings whilst constantly claiming innocence.

They release information about their friends as easily as they do venom against their purported enemies.

  3. i think this started from the story of adam and eve. ya know the snake there. i think i remember before i heard someone say that the snake is the devil. and some people say that the devil used to be an angel but was a traitor and sent to h**l.

orrr maybe because the snake tempted eve to eat the apple causing adam and eve to betray the lord or something like that.

  4. Just like Indiana Jones, I hate snakes.

All these Anaconda movies did not help my aversion either.  And then, there are video clips in Discovery I saw where this kind of snake coils itself into some kind of organic wheel and chases people down a slope rolling fast.   Why, they are so sly and high tech, too!   Ingenius, that!  They must have given the first man the idea of a wheel!

About men espousing peace, but really working for their own agenda, it reminds of the Judge in FPJ's movie, played by the talented Eddie Garcia.   Yeah, there are people like that.   We should all steer clear of people like that, as Indy would rather that there be no snakes in his adventures.   And yet, it can't be helped.   We just have to face them, sometimes, with all of men's wisdom in our disposal.

  5. poisonous/venomous

snakes can be territorial...will strike/attack if threatened...more so will leave area if not feeling threatened really depends on what snake...

comparision of mn and spouse and peace and hrmony...a bad relationship???  maybe that person hasn't been exposed / lived surrounded by peace and harmony but the opposite negative raits...

a little difficulty understanding exactly what ur looking for response wise.

run don't walk from a bad thing...

  6. if you're trying to ask why they are venomous, it is because there are species of snakes that have venom. regarding treachery, remember the story about adam, eve and the serpent? that's where it came from.

i don't understand your next question.

  7. Snakes are venomous if they can inject poison into you. and are traitorous, because they can do it and will do it often when you least expect it. that make them double dangerous.

This question triggered recall of an old  (1963) song written and sung by Johnny Rivers. It describes this question well.

    The Snake   -  Johnny Rivers

On her way to work one morning

Down a path alongside the lake

    A tender-hearted woman

    Saw a poor half-frozen snake

His pretty coloured skin had been

    All frosted with the dew

"Oh faith" she cried. "I'll take you in

And I'll take care of you."

    "Take me in, tender woman.

Take me in, for Heaven's sake.

    Take me in, tender woman,"

    Sighed the snake

Now she wrapped him up all cosy

    In a comforter of silk

And then laid him by the fireside

With some honey and some milk

She hurried home from work that night

    As soon as she arrived

She found that pretty snake she'd

    Taken in had been revived

    "Take me in, tender woman.

Take me in, for Heaven's sake.

    Take me in, tender woman."

    Sighed the snake

She clutched him to her bosom

    "You're so beautiful," she cried

"But if I hadn't brought you in

By now you might have died."

Well she stroked his pretty skin again

And then kissed and held him tight

    But, instead of saying "Thanks"

The snake gave her a vicious bite

    "Take me in, tender woman.

Take me in, for Heaven's sake.

    Take me in, tender woman."

    Sighed the snake

"I saved you," cried that woman

"And you've bitten me, but why?

You know your bite is poisonous

    And now I'm gonna die!"

    "Hah, shut up, silly woman,"

Said that reptile, with a grin

"You knew darned well I was a snake,

    Before you took me in."

"Aw, take me in, tender woman.

Take me in, for Heaven's sake.

    Take me in, tender woman."

    Sighed the snake

    Sighed the snake

    Sighed the snake

"Aw, you better take me in, tender woman,"

    Sighed the snake

This is a 1968 recording of the song, not by Johnny Rivers, but by Al Wilson.

  8. snakes are both beautiful and harmful.

men pretends to look good while evil is inside their head. be careful, they can kill you.

  9. They are venomous because they naturally contain venom.

I do not know how a snake can be "traitorous." I didn't know animals can decieve or commit treachery. Your question is very strange indeed.

  10. Snakes have the uncanny ability to attack when you least expect it.  First they charm you with their contortions - much like a belly dancer teasing an audience - and boom, the bite of all bites.  Deadly!!!

  11. I do identify with St. Patrick, not just in name. He drove the snakes out of Ireland. I intend to drive the snakes out of the Congress.

  12. snakes aren't always to be feared,I sometimes played with venous ones when I was just a kid,lol
