  1. their bodies are not used by humans for anything useful or important.

Snow leopards use them for living & being a beutiful presence in the high mountains.

they are endangered because their fur/skin is very sought after by people who have lots of money but feel they need dead animal skins to make themselves OK, and becuse they are rare they get a high price, so are targeted by poachers.

and fighting - how many were killed or had their habitat destroyed by  mountian bombing in afganistan?

Also climate change is causing the snow line to rise so reducing their habitat further.

A few are killed by shepards looking after their flocks; but as much of their area people are buddist they respect all life.

  2. hmm,great question.

well, its fur and skin is used in clothing industry(purse, jacket, etc)

  3. What Fred Said

  4. we eat them.

  5. a combination of loss of habitat and poaching the snow leopards have brought the populations down.

Their skins are bought for high prices on the black market because they are so beautiful and some stupid people in the world still think they need to kill the animal so they can wear its beauty.

Other parts of the body are probably sold as "medicines" just like so many othe endangered spiecies that get cut up to get a gall bladder that mostlikely does nothing for the person taking it as a medicine.

  6. the habitat they live in is so severe that poaching for skin or meat is more difficult than most hunters are willing to deal with so the biggest threat, as c m, said below is habitat destruction.

the snow leopard's situation yet another example of how destruction of the balance of nature - whether it is habitat intrusion or the extinction of an element of the specific food chain causes an imbalance in nature that destroys the other participating species.

the ironic thing is that we humans think we are beyond this dependency and somehow the laws of nature do not apply to us.  good luck with that one!
