Why are so many NBA players african american?

The overall african american population is about 14%.

Why do you think that there is such a contrast between the overall population % vs. NBA % of african americans.

Probably because it's their favourite sport. Or maybe because the other race likes other sports WAY MORE than basketball. Usually soccer,hockey, baseball,etc. I don't know, just my opinion.

Because basketball is favored by AA's. Saying they are physically superior is racist, but is kinda true. Reason being that the usual teen AA isn't obese and play sports earlier.

AA's are known to have less fundamentals than Caucasians. Less ability to defend or assist, but more ability to score.  Scoring is what teams look for.

It has really nothing to do with Body type or anything, that has been proven by teams like Spain and Argentina.

It is just who is playing it at the time.

You're not a racist, you're just asking a question.  My opinion is that basketball is a common sport, and most African Americans are talented at playing basketball. Genes have little to do with it, but their body type is bigger and stronger. Let's face it. Lebron is beast. They have excellent athleticism (fast, high hops, good stamina, great endurance.)

it aint african american.  Were these people born in africa?  no, so either call them americans or black people.  Second, ur not racist, its true, i think black people are just better because they seem faster and jump higher than anyone else which helps with basketball and its cheaper to play basketball because u just need a basketball and find a hoop and u can just play by yourself, in baseball u need more people and u need a bat, a lot of balls in order to play baseball.
