Question:

Why are so many NSW Players now Playing Origin for Qld?

How is it that players of Pacific Island, Torres Straight or Aboriginal decent, seem able to pick and choose which is their "State of Origin" team, shouldn't it be where you were born, not where you played for first Senior Game?

In that case all the Junior Reps running around could move to bloody Qld just to be Graded than end up representing the Maroons as their State of birth! While i'm winging why was Matty Rogers able to play for the Maroons, why would the Blues than not include Sonny Bill Williams (another matter entirely)?

  1. because qld just like their clubs(broncos and titans) must win at every cost, even if they use cheap tactics or result to cheating, otherwise nsw would be winning like 6 in a row by now

  2. It's where you play your first senior game.  It's called State of ORIGIN, because we didn't have a paid comp in Brisbane like you guys had in Sydney.  So our players like Artie Beetson etc had to go down South to make a career out of footy.

Back then they played for NSW, because that's where they were playing at the time, much like the Pura Cup in cricket does.

Anyhow, we got sick of hearing you half witted mexicans boasting about how good you were, so we kindly pointed out the fact that you were using OUR players.

Thus State of Origin was born!  Now we can show you that players that played footy HERE FIRST, are much better than the scraps that you're left with when we bring them home to play for THEIR State.

If you want to follow your lain brain idea of playing where you were born, we'll have the matches that Peter Sterling won for you back thanks!

Shut Up and enjoy the footy!

    Cheers

    Bronco

  3. It is not a case of the state you were born but the state you played junior league in.

What other players have played for the blues and are now playing for qld?

  4. It is where they play junior footy, not at senior level. The Polynesian players must declcare who they want to play for (Australia or NZ) at rep level (only applicable if they have moved to Australia and played origin in under 17, 18, etc). If they choose NZ, they aren't allowed to play for origin. Willie Mason is an example. He was norn in NZ so he could have chosen to play for the kiwis. Sonny Bill is complaining at why he cannot play for NZ and NSW. I personally feel that NZ should have their own origin, north island v south island and broadcst it in NZ ans Australia some time after state of origin.
