Why are so many adults reluctant to reveal their age?

Because many adults are unhealthy and are afraid they look older than they really are.

I'm not reluctant,i'm 36 fit and healthy,i can do a lot of things the same as when i was a teenager,but the ravages of time slowly eat away at your physicality and when your older sometimes your confidence suffers,so some people say they're younger to try and fit in.

They look older than they are but are not old enough yet to get the senior discounts.

Depends where you  are in Yahoo games-kids are just plain smarta$$es that you can even spell (Literati),  Yahoo chat curiosity are you that old,  department stores I need to see id before I give you a senior discount rate, some of us  don't look our age,  some  look our age, some even look older then their age.  Have a good AM. :0)

Additional Details: I can even answer a direct question. In my day & age  men would never asked a woman's age( out of respect)- but I am happy to say I am 55 years old & yes I can still spell, chat, answer questions.
