chris at hornchurch - that is interesting. I know a few US people who would like to move to the UK (educated and highly skilled people) that find it impossibly complicated as they are not EU. They are excluded because they are American.

I am in the US, which is not as bad as it is depicted by the press worldwide...we actually have nationwide declines (for quite some time) in crime. I am surprised to hear that the UK is thought of as a sinking ship.

  1. As a once wannabe emigrant to OZ (wife refuses to go) with  relatives over there and having visited  Oz ( Australia) several times . My own viewpoint is that life in UK is in considerable d decline with rising crime and overcrowding, coupled with a sense of no identity by most English  folk and with OZ being a much wider ,open and English  speaking country with a similar culture. It represents a place of safety and interest, It also has a definite policy of only allowing  desirable immigrants in . This sis admired by many English folk who are upset and dismayed that our own government refuses to acknowledge the English peoples desires to have the same strict immigration policies in place.personally I would emigrate tomorrow knowing what Oz is like  form Sydney to Ayers rock and most of the South coast,  be under no illusions it has drawbacks IE health  costs etc but overall the Quality of life is just so much better.

  2. Yes we do have the heat, but medical system is S**t.

  3. The weather is much better here than the UK, and my partner is from the UK also.

  4. because it's a hot country where people speak English, and it's not America

  5. Cause its nice and hot plus they speak english there.

  6. Im going there next year cause i hate the UK its a pile of s**t expensive and the weathers c**p.

  7. As good as it is here, it will gradually go under it seems everyone is coming here, its becoming a sad,, sad position for australians, food is on the rise housing department houses going to them before we get them, they are here for 2 mins and get a house.. we have to wait 5-15 yrs  they get the pension, in 2 yrs, so now our living prices are going up...and we are paying the price for this now...many australians are changing,we fear more, and the rise of youth become somewhat angry more... its really sad, we never had gangs and if we did they were silent, people are really turning into something alot of Australians dont like... we may have great weather, but slow thats changing to, as Australia is growning the wheather is too. our water supply is going down because visitors / new australians dont watch how much they use.... its endless what I can say... so yeah it was a beautiful place once now its becoming something I dont reaconise anymore... : (

  8. Better quality of life, nicer weather, cheaper.

Wouldn't do it myself but I don't blame those who do.

  9. Because the UK is a sinking ship and those that stay will drown in a sea of poverty, over work, stress, violence and corruption.

  10. Because they're an ex-British colony and a similar culture and have the brains to not let any old trash move there.

  11. I think Australia appeals to them more as it's more laid back lifestyle - plenty to do and see .... hey you only live once - why not make a big move!

  12. I feel exactly the same as Chris at Hornchurch, I lie awake at night thinking of leaving this sinking ship. I could have gone to Oz with my kids dad 4 years ago but because my boy had been in high school a year I wouldn't move him, now, of course, he doesn't want to go so i feel I'm trapped here.

I must admit though Frances S has given me food for thought. Maybe now there is no bloody haven for the simple reason there's TOO MANY BLOODY PEOPLE and most of 'em are in England, no wonder we're sinkin'!

  13. Cos the weathers far better and it's a far better standard of life.Get yourself over there now!In Victorian times it used to be a penal colony but if they'd had any sense in those days, folk would have gone over there and left the crims back in the UK!

  14. The weather is the biggest factor

  15. maybe it is the weather or employment opportunities.

  16. Because UK has no future.

  17. UK is going down hill fast..3 of my friends have gone out there in the last 4 years..
