Question:

Why are so many in such a hurry to end the nomination process?

People were in a hurry in 2000 to bring closure and unity. Look how it all ended up. So why the rush?

If it is to be a 'quick' process, why not have all states hold primaries on the same day?

  1. It is not in the overall best interests of the Democratic party to have their two candidates taking shots at each other for months on end after McCain has already been confirmed as the Republican candidate, and has the leeway to take shots at either of them as he pleases, or sit back and them them slit each other's throats.  You'll notice Barack is making an effort not to attack Hillary any more, because it makes him look bad and he doesn't really gain anything politically.

I believe the reason state do not hold primaries on the same day is because it is desirable to trim the field before most people vote, because of the potential for votes being split.  Let's look at this year's Republican primaries as an example.  Let's say you liked Fred Thompson, but really HATED Rudy Giuliani, but wouldn't mind John McCain or Mitt Romney.  Wouldn't you be upset if you voted Thompson, who got something like 2% of the vote if that, and Giuliani had maintined his early momentum to take a narrow win over McCain?  With the primaries spread out, you can see that Thompson had no real chance, and you can then vote for a more realistic candidate.

Granted, this does further the "lesser of two evils" style of democracy that plagues both parties, but it also ensures that a candidate gets a sure win, rather than simply coming out with the most votes of a heavily divided party.

I will say that I have no clue as to why states hold primaries AFTER Super Tuesday.

  2. BECAUSE SHE CANT CANT WIN. SHE CANT TAKE EITHER LEAD FAIRLY SHES THE WEAKEST LINK BYE BYE

  3. Well, no one has reached the required number of delegates, so I agree, why say it's over, when really, it's not?

  4. Two reasons, I'll give the least of them first.

#2 - If Hillary concedes, they won't have to make a decision on Florida and Michigan. Therefore letting the DNC off the hook. Rhode Island did the same exact thing in 1996 but was counted to help Monica's boyfriend get the nomination. He was their boy just like Hussein is now. Only not counting FL & MI helps Hussein.

#1 - Hillarry has the goods on many of the super delegates who have not commited. If it comes down to the meeting in June, she will have the leverage to bring them to her side. She will also get some that have committed to Hussein to come to her side or she will release her info. Remeber those missing FBI files we repubs fussed about for two years that she had no idea where they were, then one day they were found on her coffee table? She made copies and verified the info to know who she would have the goods on.

  5. The longer Hillary is in the race the more we will learn about Obama and the media does NOT want that to happen.
