Why are so many liberals stating that Palin wouldn't have time to run this country because she has children?

Question

For those who aren't a part of this mentality that I've been reading about on and off since Friday's announcement, this question is not directed at you.

For the rest of you who appear to be making an issue out of this, what gives? Are you trying to set us back 100 years or something? My own husband stays home while I run our business, why can't hers?

Please don't pull the 'her husband is an oil exec' stuff. Executives don't belong to unions.

I agreee with you, although I have only seen todays posts some have been down right vulgar. Liberals attack what they don't agree with. In all honesty, regaurdless of  the choice  was the same intensity of resentment would have been shown. I say Good for McCain, and good for Palin.

The way it looks now, Palin's children have been traveling with her on the trail, with her husband and older kids helping with the younger ones.

One thing that many are forgetting is that she apparently has a very strong marriage. I'm quite sure she didn't go into this without first talking to him. He's just as capable as she is at taking care of the kids while she's busy.

The funny thing is that Sen Obama called for change and with Sen Clinton "shattering the glass ceiling" I guess its okay for one of their own to be some kind of an executive capacity but watch out if you are running against them.......

The Democrats are still in a quandary on how to handle this choice.

Funny... the first time that I heard about liberals calling into question whether or not she'd have time to run things was from a conservative.

I don't think that her having a family would have anything to do with her ability to lead.  It's the fact she's been in politics for a year and a half in the most sparsely-populated state in the Union and is more or less diametrically opposed to most of what I stand for that distresses me and makes me think this was a really dumb decision for a running mate.

There may be many here that don't like her because she represents and Ideology they can not understand or grasp. And sadly if you don't like her for those reasons you have the right. But when others of that ilk try to use her experience and her motherhood as reasons for not voting they are slanderous, hurtful to their own cause and completely hypocritical and insulting to mothers and women in genderal what ever their life course.

I've seen people question her ability to lead also b/c she has children.  What I'm seeing here is that they question her EXPERIENCE.  Really, the Dems are questioning the EXPERIENCE of the REpubs VP choice.  From a time perspective she has just as much experience as obama.  She has executive experience which Obama has none.  She has run a state-be it sparsely populated or not, its one of the largest states and produces a large amount of our domestic energy supply (oil).  

Which ever argument they are using I find ironic.  Obama has no experience and wants to lead our country -Pres vs. VP-.  the left claim to be all about women's rights and that women can do anything a man can do in a job, but they want to say that she can't be VP b/c she's got children?  Which is it.  Can she or does her being a momma mean she can't.  And they call Repubs racist/sexist/etc.  HA!!

I heard a CNN reporter ask how it is she wont be neglecting her children.  I have heard people on here saying they "question" her priorities.  Disgusting.

as for experience, she has been in politics more than 1.5 years... She was a mayor before that and involved in politics for, I belive, around 14 years.
