Why are so many people getting laid off of starbucks? i dont understand!!?

starrrbucks is so good.. is it going outa business as well?

because they weren't meeting profit expectations - thats what happens when you become a public company -

you now report to wall street and if you don't hit the numbers your stock tanks - so the stockholders aren't happy and now management has to do something to boost the bottom line and improve performance - so stores close - people are out of work

Because with the current economy people can't afford $5.00+ for a cup of coffee and starbucks knows it.

They expanded too many stores too fast.  They are closing 600 of them.  So now instead of being on every corner, they are on every other corner....
