Why are so many people getting their feet tattooed?

What happens if your feet swell does that ruin the tattoo

It's the new trend du jour. Years ago it was the lower back that was popular. Before that the shoulder blade or neck. Now the foot is doing the rounds I guess. There are cultures that has been tattooing feet for a long time and consider them to be feminine.

And skin can not stretch that much on your foot so swelling wouldn't affect it.

well i don't have ball park frank feet- they don't plump when i cook them lmao

i wanted a tattoo on my foot bcse i had drawn a vine an it fit perfectly on my foot.

so when it's summer time out and i'm rocking cute flip flops and a great pedicure my foot with be extra pretty with my tattoo.

the only swelling people(women) do is when we get pregnant some people have swelling in their feet. it's nothing that will ruin your tattoo... now on your b*****s and stomach area- that's another story- that skin can stretch and not return to what it was pre pregnancy and can distort a tattoo

prime reason i won't ever tattoo those areas

Feet have been tattooed for thousands of years, it is just because communication is so good now that anything that any group of people starts to do (as in fashion or fad), gets around quickly, and that's all you hear about. Also, since people under 25 especially, are focused on as target groups for marketing (everything from products, fashion, movies, school supplies), whatever the current topic/thing is, flies throughout this group with texting and emails and phones. Easy way to get any thought, trend, action going. Marketing loves this group because the group thinks that they are 'cool and unique' by doing everything that their peer group does.

You'd think that tattooing wouldn't be targeted, but it is because of all of the products and fashion = $$ that can be made from marketing products based off of tattooing and tattooing images.

Many people want tattoos but they want them in a location that they can hide it or is not very noticeable so that they can be professional when necessary. Many men will put them on their upper shoulders or their back and women tend to go with their feet because many dressy items for women show their shoulders and they can't look professional with them located there.
