  1. In the answer to this question, you have to wonder if you would liek to know if the life is asking it

  2. curiosity - we need to know more :)

  3. because people like to think they they are doing something productive. I mean if u just sat at home all day watching tv from now till forever, you would feel horrible about urself cuz u never did anything productive.

Well, if there is no meaning to life, then basically no matter what we do now is a giant waste of time, because it doesnt really mean anything. As humans, we like to think that we got something done, or produced some kind of results in our lifetime. Thats why people wonder what the meaning of life is, because life would be so empty if it had no meaning, and everything we did now was in vain.

  4. In my opinion most people ask because they hope that no matter what answer they get back they will feel something different afterwards. Whether they hope for a reason for living or justification for something that's happened or simply want to start an argument or discussion, its the kind of question that draws out peoples personality and beliefs and there's a chance in asking that we might either find a few lines that will keep us going for a few hours or at least find some comfort in knowing that everyone else is as ignorant as we are.

I don't have an answer by the way and you could look in the bible if you want (not my cup of tea I have to say) or even buy an orange robe and shave your head if you think it'll help but at the end of the day there's bad bits that have to happen to make the good stuff stand out and if you can make a few people smile along the way then you haven't done a bad job.

  5. Because they realised that everything it's vanity.

I recomend them to read the Bible.May be they can have peace of mind and soul.

  6. Because is normal one question for a human life. Lower species can not come with this sort of interrogative. Anyone who live just  for living is in on the level of lower animals, concerning in eating, sleeping, mating and defending only.

All knowledge that we can get in any university means only for the satisfaction of bodily demands. Such knowledge has no connection with the Absolute Truth. It is more or less like the knowledge of the ordinary animals: the knowledge of eating, sleeping, defending and mating. Such knowledge is  the product of the mode of darkness. In other words, knowledge concerning the spirit soul beyond this body is called knowledge in the mode of goodness, knowledge producing many theories and doctrines by dint of mundane logic and mental speculation is the product of the mode of passion, and knowledge concerned only with keeping the body comfortable is said to be in the mode of ignorance.

The human being is endowed with a higher, advanced stage of consciousness for getting relief from the existence of material miseries, but due to his ignorance he thinks that his higher consciousness is meant for advancing in the material comforts of life. Thus his intelligence is misused in the animal propensities instead of spiritual realization. By advancing in material comforts the human being puts himself into a more miserable condition, but, illusioned by the material energy, he always thinks himself happy, even while in the midst of misery. Such misery of human life is distinct from the natural comfortable life enjoyed even by the animals. But in the human form of life, by the grace of God, the consciousness is so developed that a man can evaluate his exceptional position and thus realize the self and the Supreme Lord. Human society, however, has artificially created a type of civilization which makes one forgetful of his relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Modern society even enables one to forget the Supreme Personality of Godhead's grace and mercy. Consequently modern civilized man is always unhappy and in need of things. People do not know that the ultimate goal of life is to approach the Lord  and satisfy Him. They have taken this materialistic way of life as everything and have become captivated by materialistic activities.

  7. Meaning and purpose are essentially the same thing.  Both refer to plans and bigger pictures.  Things that are without purpose are also without worth, i.e. we throw things away that serve no purpose.

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell

But there is no purpose without God and our lives have no worth without purpose.

But we cannot tolerate a life not worth living:

"There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide. Deciding whether or not life is worth living is to answer the fundamental question in philosophy. All other questions follow from that." Albert Camus

So our human nature forces us to think our lives worth living which in turn forces us to think about purpose and meaning.

  8. It's just a trap question.
