Why are so many people noticing Shawn Johnson for the wrong reasons?

Yes, she is very cute or beautiful, which ever you prefer, she has a stunning smile and has, obviously, been recognized for those things. But, what about her talent. You can't just walk into a gym one day and decide you are going to be a gymnast. She has worked very hard to get where she is and everyone should notice that. I think it is a little bit easier for the women because they are not blinded by her beauty. I just want everyone to know how hard she has worked to get here and you should not give her any negative criticism. She is one of the greatest American gymnasts. I may be 13, but that is how I see things, if anyone else has any input, that would be great. Thanks.

instead of all you wa wa-ing about you should realize the world is full of positive or negative things like criticism. She does her craft and gets judged by an olympic panel for god's sakes. Do you really think she sits up at night crying cus of what you read in a forum?

i think those people obviously realize that she has a tremendous amount of talent along with beauty... she is on the olympic team and has already won a few medals so it's not like people think it's a fluke

People like that are just haters. They hate themselves and their lives that anything negative they can find gets blown up. They bring other people down so they feel better about their pathetic lives.  I think Shawn Johnson's gymnastic is one of the best. Yes, she does not have Liukin's style and grace but who does? Shawn Johnson is so powerful and sure in her acrobatics and when she hits her acrobatics is the best out of anyone!

She got silver when she had to really hit and that's a champion. Clutch performance for her!  

I've never personally heard who's talking c**p about her and will ignore it if I hear anything else. The 2 best gymnasts deserved their medals. I will always be a Liukin fan but Shawn Johnson made me her fan after seeing her Olympics. Much respect. Wish she hit on her individual floor because I felt that if just one gymnast does not make a mistake on landing with a pretty high difficulty level, they would take the title. Personally Shawn's tumbling was better executed but the landings are what really counts.

I think she is beautiful and she's only sixteen. She is super adorable and handles herself very well.  Just remember, when you become big, people will always have negative comments made about you, that's when you known you've made an impact.  

Those people in the forums are most likely not gymnasts so they don't know the work someone puts in to even do her routines.   She's world class that's why she was one of the  favorites to win the gold in all-around.  People will put insulting comments to rile other people in forums. And they really need to get a life if they put so much effort insulting someone they don't even know.

Wow! that was pretty deep for a 13 year old. but you are also very right. A lot of teenage guys and 20 year old and up pervs only notice her cause she's cute. I dont disagree, she is cute, but she has immense talent and, yes, she is one of the greatest American gymnasts. I totally agree with you.

Wow dude, that was deep. Most of the men are just shallow and react badly to that kind of thing. You are very right.
