Why are so many people wanting Italian Citizenship?

Why are so many people wanting Italian Dual Citizenship? Is there something special about it?

I don't get it.  Italy is going to be Muslim territory in 30 years.

probably to continue ancestry, lineage trough family, and pride to let the patrimony of the family to go on,

you may indeed acquire Italian citizenship easier by marrying a citizen of Italy, in a smaller time than most countries demand,

being an European citizen does allow you to travel to most countries without asking for a visa, because Italy belong to the visa waiver of most countries, no need for visa, same for most countries in the EU,

for myself? living very close to Italy, i do not see the use, for i need no visa to visit,nor permission to install myself in Italy,

Italy is my next door neighbor,easy to access,

i, too have dual citizenship, so do my children and my grand son,as of last year:-)

i truly wanted for them to love my original country as well as my new country, to also continue our heritage, of course they wanted that as well, i did not force them, by all means it was their own choice,

there are, benefits of having dual citizenship,not any disadvantages, you may vote in both countries, travel freely, from one to the other.keep both passports,

transmit your roots to your love ones, with citizenship;

and i love both of my countries equaly.

Easy to get via marriage (6 months then you can naturalize) and a lot of people with Italian descent (lots of people like to have dual)'and there are plenty of Italian migrants in a lot of countries (perhaps also a link back to home and where your ancestors came from). There's the EU link with Italy and the benefits that you can get being an EU citizen.
