Why are social workers needed and a lack of them currently?

this is for a public speech about why social workers are needed and why there is a lack of them. Information from credible source would be great.

  1. I personally don't think they are.

    There is a "shortage myth" going around that says there aren't enough fully-trained professionals in a lot of fields; it's B.S.  It's an excuse to get people going back to school for retraining while employers look for ways to bring in immigrants who will work for less money.  

    By the time you get out with your upgraded skills, you're job's been taken by an Indian.

  2. Social workers?  They lie for a money.  Who wants to lie on paper for a living to get childish attention and money while breaking up families?  Usually very unpeaceful people and obsessed as well.  Perhaps trying to replace the discipline/absense of parents affection they did not get would explain their being so out of control of themselves.

    Social worker is a broad title also.  Next time you note "social worker" please include all their titles and what social control truthfully means.
