Why are socket 939 AMD X2 cpus so much pricier than AMD socket AM2s of the same speed, etc? ?

Pricewatch has AMD X2 5000 for socket 939 at $250.00 and AMD X2 5000 for socket AM2 at $70.00.

  1. because the 939 socket CPU's are using DDR memory which will soon be coming to its "END OF LINE" production soon but Socket 939 processors are already there, so as they stop making them they become more rare and expensive for people who want to update their old motherboards
