  1. Personal preference.

A lot of people like how they look.

  2. More tradition than anything else.  It also shows the pride that one has for serving their country in the armed services.

Although if the bride is/was a member/former member and the groom was not, then the bride will usually not wear her uniform, opting for the traditional bridal gown.

The groom on the other hand will always wear his uniform.

  3. It's cheaper than renting/buying a tux.

    E

  4. Some do - many don't.

It isn't mandatory, but a matter of personal choice.

Of course, if it's a military wedding, all men in the wedding party would be in uniform.

  5. The military does not mandate your personal life......as long as you break no other laws.....you can get married in a swim suit if you chose ( the minister might object but the military could care less)

The simple answer to your question....."Tradition and personal choice....."

Been married twice......never wore my uniform..... been to three weddings where the groom wore his uniform and even had the ushers in uniform.....one had the saber arch with troops in uniform

  6. My father was married in his uniform. Because they were young and poor :)

  7. I got married in uniform because my girlfriend  and i discussed it and i wanted to because i was/am proud to be in the Royal Air Force

Not compulsory in British military and it could be traditional for Military families

  8. Because they look good. Out of respect.

  9. It's tradition, most people are just proud of what they do when they are in the military.

  10. because they are f'n proud of their country.

  11. tradition

  12. The photos look much better.

    I was married in uniform.

  13. So their girlfriends can stay at base.

Seriously, if the woman you stay with isn't your wife she can't live on base.

  14. Just tradition.... I wasnt married in uniform. But thats cause i spend so much time in it, I didnt want to spend my offtime in it. And dont start attacking me for it.... I'm proud of what i do and what i stand for!

  15. Its a personal preference thing. They can be married in a full military wedding, they can wear their dress uniform, or they can be married in civilian attire.

My guy is going to be in his dress blues for the ceremony & pics then a tux for the reception.
