Why are some Filipino have a habit of putting "H" in their names?

  1. Spanish Influence.. K was used to be substituted by C before also like Camatis for Kamitis..

  5. Yep, it's annoying (and a tad pretentious) but then it was a fad decades ago. I think people wanted their or their children's names to seem cool. Oh well, de gustibus non est disputandum (there is no disputing about tastes). Boy - Bhoy, Cris - Chris, Rowena - Rhowena

    People now a days are too bored with their names that they insert "H" as much as they can in their names....

  7. All parents think it's cute to make up unusual spelling and sounding names.  So, my advice here:  leave parents alone.  I could give you hundreds of examples.

  12. ugh... my mom did that with my name.. its annoying cuz ppl always ask me whats the correct way to say my name..  and i dont know!!

    cuz my dad pronounces the "h", but my mother [the one who gave me my name!!] doesnt!  so i dont know how to say my own name... and it makes me feel very sad.

    Hospital -   Ospital

    Heridero -  eridero as recipient

  16. the influence of the kapampangans - making the "h" sound when there should none and removing the "h" when there should be one. so make it "mariphosah" - kinda annoying but it's still cool, isn't it?

  17. To make it more unique though its common name but unique spelling. That start when filipino becomes text addict.

  18. It's a fad especially during the 80s and 90s. Most of the children born during then are the victims of it.
