Doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of ANTI-depressants?

  1. Anti-depressants mess with the levels of 3 chemicals in the brain- Serotonin, Dopamine, and Norepinephrine. When you mess with these levels it creates different responses, such as suicidal thoughts. Sometimes the thoughts go away after awhile, but other times the drug must be changed before things go back to normal. In minors especially these problems can occur.

  2. This is only the case with teenagers. It has to do with your brain chemistry at that age.

  3. Yikes, i hope mine doesnt do that. i just got my perscription filled out today.

  4. they have to report everything to the fda regardless if the drug had anything to do with it and given the number of times that happens to depressed people without medication, some are going to say they get those thoughts even when on medication because it doesn't work right away and isn't 100% effective.

  5. That's why you just need to stay away from all these drugs. All they do is cover up the symptom or make it worse. Most Dr's, not all mind you, but most just want to keep you that way so you will have to keep coming back. My remedy...look into natural products that will actually help, heal and add to your over-all well being.

  6. Well when you start an anti depressant or being taken off of it will cause these thoughts. It is chemical fixing your brain. After a couple of days this feeling will go away

  7. Well it's hard to believe but antidepressants actually make some people much, much worse ie. suicidal
