My name is Andrian from Indonesia. I tried to study Geography of U.S.A

I confused with all cities in U.S.A.

Some cities are the capital cities of each states, like Sacramento, California. But I used to think that Los Angeles or San Fransisco is the capital city of California. And so do Austin, Texas. I used to think that Houston or Dallas is the capital city, because they are bigger, better, and more famous than Austin.

Are some capital cities just looked by great government? Because in Indonesia, the capital city of a province has more population, bigger, better, and more famous than another cities around it, like Jakarta, Bandung, etc.

Please give your reason and description

And i also need your description about the comparison between the capital city and the famous cities around it in each states/50 states. (each category is one city. E.g Santa Fe & Albuquerque. Santa Fe is the capital city but Albuquerque is bigger)

Please, I need your help..

Thank you

  1. Many states tried to separate the financial capital (as San Francisco was when California entered the US as a state) and the government city.  This happened in the US when the financial capital was established in New York to be distant from the political capital in Washington DC.  It also happened in West Germany after WW II, when the occupying allied forces had to leave Berlin--they settled in Bonn, a fairly remote area where the n***s had not had much influence.

There are many instances where the capital city is fairly small compared to the larger cities with strong economies, such as the SF Bay area and LA.  Also, when CA entered the US, Los Angeles was MUCH smaller!
