Question:

Why are some kinds of alcoholic drinks considered "womanly" or "manly"?

Traditionally, beer and hard liquor are viewed as more of a "man's" beverage, while wine and mixed drinks are viewed as more of a "woman's" beverage.

This also correlates very well to my friends and family as well as my wife's friends and family.

Why is this so? Why are beer and hard liquor preferred by fewer women? Why are wine and mixed drinks preferred by fewer men?

Or feel free to disagree completely.

  1. I agree that it's the case but I think it's stupid.  We as a society have this innate urge to classify everything into categories especially to do with gender.  This is true of drinks.

  2. well womans drinks are like

bay breeze and sea breeze and men are beer martini

    rum and coke and harderliqueurss

med do like thewomen'ss drinks but are reluctant to order when with other malebecauseeafraidf of being less manly

  3. Well i personally do not like beer and most wines i don't prefer.. I like my rum and coke, and i love coolers and so does my boyfriend.. even those rockstars, pomegranate + vodka.. those are pretty good too. But I'm not sure why guys like harder liquors than women. The only thing i can think of would be that its easier for guys to drink hard liquor because of the way their body takes in the alcohol. Other than that I'm not sure.

  4. well i would not be caught drinking a cosmo or an appletini, but i know women who drink scotch on the rocks or beer

  5. Why? We never know, but I´m a male and certainly I love beer. My wife love wine. Most of the woman that I know love wine and champagne. Most of my friends who are men love beer and vodka. I know I´m really not resolving your question but I´m telling about the issue you want to talk.
